ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Super Bowl Sunday which is the biggest football game and the biggest sporting event of the year. The Super Bowl is the most watched American television broadcast, drawing more than 160 million viewers.
Beyond the game itself, the Super Bowl is famous for its commercials, its halftime show and its ability to bring people together to celebrate. Many people get together for Super Bowl parties and it’s one of the biggest food consumption holidays, second only to Thanksgiving.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The Super Bowl is like a movie, and the quarterback is the leading man.
Leigh Steinberg
I’m not a big sports fan and rarely watch any kind of game on TV, but I do enjoy the half time shows and even the commercials.
I’m a big fan of snack foods too so I’m thinking that Sunday dinner will probably be just that…snacks. I know I have some summer sausage, cheese and crackers on hand for starters, and am mixing up a hot spinach dip and have banana brownies for dessert. I think I have the basic food groups covered. Ha !
We play mud football every Thanksgiving when we get together and that is when today’s pictures were taken. Lots of fun for all ages as the little ones get to play too.
They are saying we’ll probably have snow this morning with a mix of rain possible by the afternoon, so after church this morning, it sounds like a great day to stay in with the TV and some snacks.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Stuffed Mushrooms Day which is a day to sink your teeth into if you like mushrooms. Stuffed Mushrooms are often filled with breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, olive oil Parmesan cheese and hot sausage or crabmeat. They make a great game day treat.
While I’ve never made them, I do love stuffed mushrooms. I found this easy recipe to try and it sounds delicious.
Stuffing Stuffed Mushrooms
20 large white mushrooms, stems removed
1 cup prepared stuffing
1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. On a lightly greased baking sheet bake mushroom caps, stem side down for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile in a small bowl, combine the stuffing and cheese. Flip the mushroom caps over and mound the stuffing into each one. Bake until the mushrooms are tender and stuffing is golden, about 20 minutes.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For today and it’s blessings, I owe the world an attitude of gratitude.
Clarence E. Hodges
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5683. for TV and snacks a great way to spend the day
5684. for an hour spent at church, always refreshing
5685. for my family and friends, two of the most important things in my life
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
In life, as in football, you won’t go far unless you know where the goalposts are.
Arnold H. Glasow
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Ooooh, a hot spinach dip sounds heavenly about now! I used to enjoy make crab stuffed mushrooms years back; not sure why I stopped.
Your family's 'mud football' games reminds me of Bobby & Ethel Kennedy's family games. I used to love when Look (or was it, Life?) magazine would do photo essays of them.
