ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Banana Bread Day. Banana bread is a delicious baked good which is classified as a quick bread . The first cookbooks that mentioned banana bread were published during the Great Depression. Resourceful housewives that did not want to throw away over ripe bananas may have invented the original recipe.
In fact the riper the bananas the better the taste of banana bread.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Give us this day our daily bread, is probably the most perfectly constructed and useful sentence ever set down in the English language.
P.J. Wingate
I always have a supply of overripe bananas here at my house and make banana bread often. I like to add chocolate chips to mine too. I also noticed that bananas were on the list of good things to eat when you have the flu.
They are part of the BRAT diet, bananas, rice applesauce, toast, that is often recommended for nausea. I haven’t really been nauseated but I’ve had little appetite and these things are among the few that taste good to me these days.
Today is like a repeat of yesterday with the exception of the temperature. We’re to be in the 50’s today instead of the 30’s like we were. On the bright side the heat bill this month was not as terrible as the one I had last month. It’ hasn’t been quite as cold.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plan, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and fail bread are the sweetest things in life.
Robert Louis Stevenson
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5737. for bananas, good and good for you
5738. for a lower heat bill
5739. a cup of Lemon Lift tea, with honey
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
While earning your daily bread, be sure to share a slice with those less fortunate.
H. Jackson Brown, P.S. I Love You
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Good morning! I bought bananas yesterday and will be making a banana pudding for Louis Dean this afternoon. Nothing tastes good to him anymore. He had a lot of dental work done last fall. Lots of crowns. He says they murdered his taste buds! Now the flu has finished them off! He’s so funny!
Hope you feel better and stronger each day.....
MA, I am "stealing" the Robert Louis Stevenson quote from you, it is so very true. My late husband LOVED making Banana bread, it was the one thing he could really make well... and he loved taking over the kitchen and baking up some loaves to give as gifts. I still have his baking pan... it makes me laugh to pull it out sometimes, but I have not used it since he has gone.
I have three bananas turning old right now. Banana nut bread sounds like the perfect way to use them. I love that sweet little tea cup!
