Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Veterans's Day, which honors all members of the Armed Forces who served this country valiantly, and in a very big way. They served and fought to protect us, to keep our country safe, and to preserve our way of life. Veterans gave their time, and risked their lives for you and me. In some cases, they made the ultimate sacrifice.
This holiday originally was called Armistice Day and was first celebrated in 1921. In 1954, President Eisenhower changed it to Veteran's Day, in honor of those who served and died from all wars.
On November 11 at 11:11, 1921 the U.S. France and England each buried an unknown soldier in honor of those who died in World War I. This began the annual Armistice Day holiday. The time and day was picked because fighting ceased in WWI in 1918 on November 11 at 11:11. In keeping with this tradition, work stops on this day and time each year for a moment of silence.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.
Elmer Davis
Most of us have or have had a veteran in our family at one time or another. My family is no exception and I’m proud of all of them. They are very devoted and self sacrificing people that hold our country and it’s freedoms very dear.
So here is a big THANK YOU to all veterans today. You deserve our thanks!
November is a month of remembrance. During these days of November many people pause to remember our loved ones who have died. Many of us will visit the grave of a loved one, light a candle, bring some flowers or flick through a photo album to touch in on memories. Whatever we do is always going to be personal for us and that's all that matters. We are thankful for the many ways in which our loved ones shaped us, cared for us and loved us. We are who we are today because of those whose lives have touched ours. We also have let our lives touch theirs. That is the connection and bond.
Our cemeteries here will be full of flags decorating the resting places of our veterans. We’ll never forget what they gave for our country.
The pictures today are from DS#6 as he and his son took an adventure on a lovely fall day. We are so very blessed to have the freedom to enjoy this beautiful land we live in.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.
Cynthia Ozick
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3301. for all veterans, past present and future
3302. for those that gave their lives for our freedom, we’ll never forget
3303. for a time of remembrance of loved ones lost
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
