Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Housewife Day. A day that recognizes the importance of stay at home wives and moms. These wonderful, caring creatures, build and enrich strong family environments. They help to instill family values and good character.
Housewife is an old term. It hails back to the days when one income could support the family in a manner of comfort. While these days are long gone, women views of working or staying at home, fall on both sides of the fence. The decision to be a housewife, or stay at home mom, is still preferred by many. Unfortunately, income needs often necessitate going to work.
Today, we celebrate and thank all of the ladies who choose to stay home and tend to the house and family!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Homemaking is a passion you can pass on from generation to generation.
Elizabeth George
I must say that the days I stayed at home caring for my family and my home were some of the most wonderful ones of my life. I loved being a housewife. But necessity did win out and I did go back to working outside the home. That didn’t mean I still didn’t care for my family and my home though. Those that go to work outside the home have a double job to do. Thankfully I had a great family that pitched in and helped out a lot.
Life brings a lot of changes our way and we don’t always get a chance to decide what happens, but we do have a choice in how we handle it all. Our attitudes make a big difference in all we do.
It’s been wonderful having some daylight earlier these days, but the long evenings are getting the best of me. Isn’t there an old saying that says, early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy and wise? I’m definitely going to bed earlier.
Today is also Election Day and I’ll be going out to vote a little later on. Remember every vote counts !
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
PRAYER REQUEST
DDIL#5 has asked for prayers for her little niece. At just a few days old her brother’s newly born daughter developed breathing problems. They believe she may have pneumonia. Please join me in praying for healing for this dear little one. May the dear Lord bless this tiny baby with good health and give comfort to the new parents.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest.
Thomas Moore
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3277. for my days as a housewife, they were the best of times
3278. for my family, they are wonderful
3279. for having a home to care for
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
51 Days Until Christmas
Its the time of year to think about how your family can give this season. Take a look around your community for something meaningful to you. Remember that if you don’t offer some help, who will. This may be a difficult time for people in your community this year. Assistance comes in many different forms. Look for ways that you and your family can donate your time and energy as well.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The best things in life are nearest: breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.
Robert Louis Stevenson
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Saying a prayer for the little one. It is true that there seems to be a necessity to have 2 incomes these days; not just for "extras" but basic needs. My niece went back to work this year after her youngest started first grade.
I know what you mean Ma with the evenings being long once it gets dark. Here it gets dark about 6 p.m. just right when I'm finishihng work. Sometimes hard to figure out how to stay occupied with things until bedtime.
