THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.
Omar Khayyam
As with many of the birthday celebrations in our family, I’ve sent off a card to this DIL with my birthday wishes . Thankfully my two out of state sons and their families now live in the same state so they do have some family close by to celebrate with. We still have a couple more November birthdays coming our way too. Lots to be thankful for in November!
This week is my week to get a lot done here in the way of Christmas gifts, as next week I’ll begin decorating for Christmas. This is much earlier than I usually do it, but with hosting our Gingerbread House party, I need it to look like Christmas the day after Thanksgiving.
On the Bright Side, I’ll have it done well before Christmas celebrations set in and will have more time for other things like wrapping up all those gifts and baking some Christmas goodies.
It’s looking like this may well be the best day of the week. We’re to be in the 60’s today then drop into the 50’s for a few days and by the end of the week temps will be in the 40’s. We’ll see how that goes...
I hope you all have a great start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes of which all men have some
Charles Dickens
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3316. for DDIL#2, it’s her birthday today !
3317. for the mail service, that get those cards where they need to go
3318. for preparations, they are always half the fun
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
38 Days Until Christmas
Think consumable as you buy your Christmas gifts. Think consumable to fight clutter, to save money, and to bring the holiday spirit back home. Many consumable gifts are very direct: passes to a movie theater, fast food gift coupons, magazine subscriptions. Others take more imagination: give a group of women friends the same book, and invite them all for a Book Night party in early February. Give a teenaged granddaughter a set of hair brushes, some styling aids and two or three hairdo magazines.
You could give mom note cards, greeting cards and stamps or dad a basket full of car wax, windshield treatment and tire cleaner.
There are many ways to make gift giving easier and fun too, just think about the people you are giving to and what they like to do.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. You may enjoy doing it so much that you want to do it again.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Happy birthday to DDIL#2!
Sounds like you have a good plan to get your things done for the holiday, Ma :) I like the idea of the consumable gifts too. I would often give my mom a roll of stamps for a Christmas gift since she sent out cards and letters a lot.
We woke up to snow this morning and a 2 hour school delay, but as I am typing this the sun is out and about and I would imagine will start to melt things as the day goes on.
