Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is World Freedom Day. In many parts of the world, freedom is something that is taken for granted, the freedom to choose any religion we want , the freedom to be in a relationship with the person we love, the freedom to travel…the list goes on. Unfortunately, there are many, many places in the world where these freedoms are not available to most people, who are forced to live empty, unfulfilling lives so the rulers of their countries don’t have them thrown in jail or worse. If you don’t know what it means to be afraid to voice your opinion, then you can consider yourself very lucky to live in a place where liberty is a priority as well as a basic human right. And like all good things, liberty should be celebrated, and that’s what World Freedom Day is all about.
World Freedom Day is a United States federal observance declared in 2001 by then President George W. Bush to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of communist rule in Central and Eastern Europe.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Freedom is never free.
Author Unknown
We are constantly reminded that freedom is never free and with Veterans Day in just a few days, I’m very thankful that we do live in a country where we are free and our freedoms have not come with out a price. The brave men and women , past, present and future, help to ensure those freedoms every day.
Gratitude is one thing that brings a lot of freedom. If you are feeling thankful, you cannot feel anything but happy and if we are happy, we feel free of our worries and cares of the day. Freedom is a condition of happiness.
It was quite breezy out the other day and my flag flying out on the front porch. I’m proud to be an American and live in a land where I know I’m free.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The highest and last freedom is to feel ever increasing gratitude.
Laura Teresa Marquez
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3295. for our country, the land of the free and home of the brave
3296. for the preservation of our freedom, so dearly bought and so highly prized
3297. for right and for truth
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
45 Days Until Christmas
Here’s an easy tasty treat to make for the holidays. It could be for Thanksgiving or Christmas
Chocolate Haystacks
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2 cups sugar, granulated
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter, unsalted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups rolled oats, uncooked
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
In a large saucepan, combine cocoa, sugar, milk and butter. Heat, stirring constantly, over medium-high heat until the mixture boils. Boil 2 to 3 minutes.
Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla, oats, coconut and pecans. Stir until stiff.
Drop in heaping teaspoonfuls on waxed paper. Cool.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

Being thankful and looking for the good in something leads to a peaceful life.
Thanks to all those who have given their lives for our freedom. God bless!
