If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
National Weatherman's Day, which is celebrated today, honors weather men, and woman who work hard to accurately predict the often fickle weather. Knowing the weather is important in so many ways. It affect how we dress, where we go, and even if we go. And, knowing the weather can save lives. The most obvious example is knowing when and where hurricanes or tornados may hit.
Weatherman's Day commemorates the birth of John Jeffries, one of America's first weathermen. Jeffries was born on Feb 5, 1744. He kept weather records from 1774 to 1816.
Don't knock the weather; nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while.
Kin Hubbard
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Per the weather prediction of the Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania we were told to expect 6 more weeks of winter. Our local weathermen said the same thing. But I read in our newspaper that Ohio’s weather forecasting groundhog Buckeye Chuck said that spring will be here soon. Amid a steady snowfall last Sunday morning, Buckeye Chuck predicted the end of winter after he did not see his shadow. It’ll be interesting to see which one has it right. The pictures today were taken this past Sunday. We continue to have snow on the ground and more is falling. I’m beginning to feel like a hermit here.
There is absolutely nothing we can do about the weather. It’ll be whatever it is, but we do have a choice in how we handle the good and the bad in life. It’s a decision each of us gets to make each and every day. One of the first things I do every morning is take a look out the window to see if we have more snow. Hopefully it won’t be long and I won’t see any of that white stuff but some green grass instead.
Meanwhile, the weather will be what it is, whether we like it or not.
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
On cable TV they have a weather channel - 24 hours of weather. We had something like that where I grew up. We called it a window.
Dan Spencer
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1379. for our weather men who try to predict the weather
1380. for suet cakes, which the birds have really been enjoying this winter
1381. for the nice big head of cabbage in the fridge which will soon be cooked up for dinner tonight and a few more nights this week too.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.

I know you all up North are getting tired of snow, but it is so pretty covering everything white, but not so pretty when it starts melting with a mushy mess I'm sure. Thanks for sharing. Pretty pictures.
I like looking at all your pictures of the snow... so pretty... but I know very wet and cold... we may have rain tomorrow... I hope, I hope... Happy Wednesday! :)
Very pretty pictures of snow! I do think it would be hard to be a weather forecaster, so many things they have to look at and take into account when making the forecast. Truly a hard job I think!

Love your pictures of the snow Pam! I always feel kind of sorry for our weathermen over here. It's a hard job and then to always be the bearer of bad news lately, rain, rain and more . . . rain! Have a lovely day! I would rather have snow than rain! xxoo
