If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Today is World Marriage Day. It is always celebrated on the second Sunday of February. A good way to celebrate this day might be for married couples to tell about how they fell in love. I fell in love on a blind date to the circus many years ago. Sometimes it’s a very good reason for all married folks to remember why they fell in love with the one they married. In the hectic every day lives we lead, it’s good just to stop and remember when and why.
Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction.
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Keep the circus going inside you, keep it going,
don't take anything too seriously,
it'll all work out in the end.
David Niven
Yes, I truly did meet my DDH on a date to the circus. And I might say that in many ways life has been like a 3 ring circus ever since. The circus, in many ways, is a metaphor for life. It’s crazy, unexpected, filled with a wild range of emotions. You can go from laughing your head off to holding your breath in fear in just a matter of moments.
At the circus the ringmaster controls the show. I leaned very quickly that if I didn’t let God control the show in our marriage it wouldn’t even make it to the big top. We’d have floundered at the side shows. DDH was very insistent that was to be the basis of our marriage.
Like walking a tight rope, we all need to learn how to keep our lives in balance. A little give and take and sometimes even a little juggling is required to have a good relationship.
And of course, we all need to clown around a bit. Life to short to be serious all the time. Learning how to have fun and laugh with each other is very important.
A three ring circus! The phase usually means something that is wild, crazy, chaotic, and unpredictable. The three rings in my circus are faith family and home. These three things will come together for one the greatest shows on earth.
I hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday. It’s going to be another cold and snowy week ahead.
PRAYER REQUEST
Please join me in praying for our Little Cutie Patootie as she’ll be having surgery tomorrow. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she goes through her surgery and recovery. May the dear Lord bless her with a successful surgery and a speedy recovery and guide the hands of the doctors caring for her.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I will remember always that marriage, like life, is a journey - not a destination - and that its treasures are found not just at the end but all along the way.

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1391. for having others to pray with
1392. for good doctors and surgeons
1393. for our sweet little Cutie Patootie
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
The real act of marriage takes place in the heart, not in the ballroom or church or synagogue. It's a choice you make -- not just on your wedding day, but over and over again -- and that choice is reflected in the way you treat your husband or wife.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Will say a prayer for little cutie, that all goes well and she makes a quick recovery!
How neat to read how you met your husband; I love how you described life as a 3 ring circus and who is in charge of it; your husband definitely had his heart in the right place to put your marriage in the hands of God from the get go!
like I wrote about before, I met my husband in a bar (but it was because my brother and him were in the same band and I went to listen to the band). On our first date he was 1-1/2 hours late because he had overslept, LOL. He was surprised I was still willing to go out with him after being that late :)

Praying for that beautiful little grandchild. I like your story about how you meet your husband and fell in love.
I met hubby on a blind date too with friends and pizza... he invited back to his place for hot chocolate and we've been having hot chocolate ever since... :)
