48 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS

If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
It was on this date in 1988 that Ruth Lyons, Ohio’s First Lady of Broadcasting, died at at the age of 82 at her Anderson Township home in Hamilton County. She launched the FIFTY CLUB radio talk show on WLW-AM in Cincinnati. The radio program was broadcast live from the Gibson Hotel. The name came from the number of seats available for guests. It morphed into the FIFTY-FIFTY CLUB and then became a daytime television show . It was the highest rated television show in the late 50’s and early 60’s. The waiting period for a seat in the audience was 3-5 years long.
If you stand up to be counted, someone will take your seat.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A mother has a front row seat in her children’s lives.
Rona Swanson
I thoroughly enjoyed watching my children grow up and now I’m enjoying watching them raise their own children. There is never a dull moment in their lives. I most certainly do have the best seat in the house.
While I was never the First Lady of anything, I feel like the most important person in the world when one of my grandchildren gives me a hug and says I love you. Their hugs, their smiles and their sweet kisses mean the world to me.
We all need to remember: That while it is nice to be important, it is more important to be nice.
Today’s pictures are just a few of the things I saw on my recent shopping trip. Hopefully there will be many more coming!
I hope you all have a great day today! Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The seat of knowledge is in the head, of wisdom, in the heart.
William Hazlitt
I have counted at least 3 things I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1109. for the best seat in the house, my rocking chair
1110. for all the sweet ladies in my life, we know a woman’s work is never done.
1111. for being a mom, no gift can compare
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
Plan more than you can do, then do it. Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it. Hitch your wagon to a star, keep your seat, and there you are.
