If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
It was on this date in 1826 that William Haines Lytle, a poet who became a Civil War general was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He wrote his most famous poem, Anthony and Cleopatra, in 1858.
A poem begins in delight and ends in wisdom.
Robert Frost
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
Walt Whitman
The pictures today are of some signs I saw at one of our craft stores not long ago. I like to take snap shots when I go there to keep for future inspiration. Inspiration for some gifts I might make in the days ahead. I’ve been hunting for some Christmas inspiration and hope to be painting lots of gifts this year for family and friends. I’m a little late in starting and will be busy busy in the days ahead. I have lots of ideas, now I just need to make them a reality.
Poetry often inspires me too, and so today I’m sharing a little poem that I hope makes you smile!
Smiling is infectious,
You catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner,
And someone saw my grin,
When he smiled I realized,
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
Then realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine,
Could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
Don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
And get the world infected.

I hope you are all smiling and have a super Saturday!
FINAL WARNING
It might just be a good idea before going to bed tonight to move the hands of your clock back one hour. Tomorrow, November 3rd, we fall back one hour!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
God is the perfect poet.
Robert Browning
I have counted at least 3 things I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1094. for inspiration that others provide
1095. for time to paint
1096. for family and friends to give gifts too
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
Poetry is the rhythmical creation of beauty in words.
Edgar Allan Poe
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma
