ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
DECEMBER 29TH, 2009
It's TUESDAY…
Oh yes, we do have more snow here. The roads were terrible to drive on yesterday. It snowed all day long and there was a lot of drifting to
o as the wind just kept on blowing all day.
Across from where I work they have a sledding hill and the traffic was heavy around there all day long. Lots of people going sledding. All the children are out of school right now on break so they were taking advantage of the snow. I even saw one fender bender happen when someone slid into the car in front of them. That sort of spoiled their happy day of sledding I’m sure.
THINKING
On the 5th day of Christmas my true l
ove gave to me...
5 Golden Rings = The first Five Books of the Old Testament, the Pentateuch, which gives the history of man's fall from grace.
In the story of the Simeon meeting Jesus, Mary and Joseph in the Temple in Jerusalem, Mary and Joseph hear Simeon's prophesy,
including the part where Simeon addresses Ma
ry. He tells her
that her Son is a sign that will be contradicted and
that a sword would pass through her own heart
Lord, now let your servant go in peace; your word has been fulfilled:
my own eyes have seen the salvation which you prepared in the sight of every people, a light to reveal you to the nations and the glory of your people Israel
Simeon, Luke 2
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
In case you have some leftover ham in your fridge here is a recipe to use some of it…
CORNBREAD PIE
1 (8.5-ounce) package cornbread mix
2/3 to 1 cup ham, cubed
1 1/2 (6-ounce) cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Heat oven to 400°F. Grease 9-inch pie plate.
Prepare cornbread mix according to package directions. Stir in ham. Transfer mixture to pie plate.
Bake pie 15 to 20 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 5 to 10 minutes longer or until cornbread is done.
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
It is bitter cold out and we are still seeing some snow falling too. BRRRCHILL!!!
I don’t imagine driving will be any better than it was yesterday.
Take good care all!
PRAYERS
Father, I believe you are always working and always speaking. Please help me to recognize your voice. Teach me how to open my heart and my mind to you
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
This cute little basket is only one of the many gifts I received this year. I have a large / huge snowman collection. The nice thing about snowmen is they can decorate my house all though the winter months.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ~ OUR Friend!!!!
Great thoughts and pictures Ma! Thanks so much for all that you share with us. Unlike Kath, we here down in the SouthEast have been enjoying rain and lots of it. I love the snow, but it does create a lot of havoc over here in the UK. They just aren't used to dealing with it in any large amount! Happy Day to you! xxoo
