a pictorial journal
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
DECEMBER 28TH, 2009
It's MONDAY…
See the sunlight reflected on the fence there…it is such a lovely sight. We did have some sun on Saturday. I’ve had my block of suet hanging out there for the birds for awhile now and the most frequent visitor has been a red headed woodpecker. Not very many birds have been around lately. I think most of them went south for the winter.
It started snowing here yesterday afternoon and we’ve got a bunch on the ground. I hope the roads are clear driving into work today.
Take good care all !
THINKING
On the 4th day of Christmas my true love gave to me...
4 Calling Birds = the Four Gospels and/or the Four Evangelists
The fourth day of Christmas we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Innocents. It is important for us to reflect upon as we imagine the unborn and the newly born who are so unjustly deprived of dignity and life today
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Don’t forget to eat those veggies these cold winter days.
They are packed with vitamins that you need right now.
I took some leftover cauliflower and broccoli that I had in the fridge from making the vegetable tray, added a little water, covered with a paper towel and nuked in the microwave for 7 minutes and then laid a couple of pieces of cheese on it to melt. It was a delicious, quick and easy lunch for me that day.
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
This will be a day to layer up for sure. We will not even reach 30 degrees today and it’ll be in the teens tonight. I have a nice warm cardigan that I’ll wear over this sweater for sure.
PRAYERS
I pray that ... Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.--Ephesians 3:16, 17
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
My Christmas decorations will remain up around my house till the 3rd of January this year. That is when we’ll be celebrating Epiphany. Then slowly, little by little everything will be packed away for another year. It is so hard to believe that Christmas comes and goes so quickly. It is so important to treasure each day.
FAMILY ALBUM
My DD is such a blessing to me and always has a beautiful SMILE to share with all.
COUNTING THE DAYS
Did you know…
One in four sign Fido’s name to their Christmas card
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
81 DAYS UNTIL SPRING !
109 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma
