ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
DECEMBER 25TH, 2009
It's FRIDAY…
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!
I’m taking it easy this morning and will be off to church in just a little while. The day will be a quiet one here for sure. I’ll probably be talking with several of my children and grand children throughout the day and finding out what Santa brought to their house. DS#2 called yesterday. He said he was having dinner with friends Christmas Eve and he was making sausage bread when he called.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
THINKING
On the First day of Christmas my true love gave to me…
A partridge in a pear tree.
The true love mentioned in the song doesn't refer to an earthly suitor, it refers to God Himself. The me who receives the presents refers to every baptized person. The partridge in a pear tree is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In the song, Christ is symbolically presented as a mother partridge which feigns injury to decoy predators from her helpless nestlings
NEW IN THE KITCHEN

1 1/2teaspoons chopped fresh parsley or 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
Barbecue sauce or chili sauce, if desired
.Heat oven to 350ºF. Lightly grease bottom and sides of jelly roll pan, 15 1/2x10 1/2x2x1 inch. 2.Stir together all ingredients, using hands or spoon. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls. Place in pan.3.Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. Immediately remove from pan. Serve warm with sauce for dipping.
It's true. You don't need to cook the sausage before using it when making this recipe
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
Because it is Christmas and I’m going to church this morning I thought I’d put a jacket on. I haven’t worn one of those in a while and usually stick to sweaters. The blouse has a fine pin stripe of red and silver running through it. I may change later on in the day, and then again I may not.
PRAYERS
God, thank you for Mary and Joseph. They model for me what it means to follow you completely and fearlessly, even when it isn’t easy or convenient. As Christmas finally arrives, may my thoughts and dreams be of you and your amazing gift of Jesus
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
I have more goodies around my house than you can shake a foot at here. I went overboard and bought lots of things when I visited the bakery on Wednesday. It’s a Polish bakery and everything is just like homemade. When I got out of my car in the parking lot you could hear the Christmas music playing and everything was decorated so cheerfully. I thought I’d just take a look and see what they had. Well I bought way more than what I should. You’ll be seeing some of the pictures of them in this entry today.
FAMILY ALBUM
Once again Baby Jesus came on Christmas morning!
COUNTING THE DAYS
The people living in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.
Matthew 4:6
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
84 DAYS UNTIL SPRING !
112 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
