ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
DECEMBER 1ST, 2009
It's TUESDAY…
BrrrChill !!!
I like the weather we had in the 50’s better than this week’s 30’s and 40’s for sure. I guess it is time to get out the winter silks…which are what I call my long johns. Another layer added to my bulk…
Monday was busy but not bad at all. I like days where I have something to do and can feel like I accomplished something when it’s time to go home.
I’ve also got the envelopes stuffed and all ready to be sent out on the Christmas cards for work and am waiting on the boss’s list so I can get the labels on them and ready for mailing. At home my cards are just about all done too…now I need to pick up some stamps.
THINKING
Advent is the time of hope, a time to renew the light of Christ in our lives.
As He came to bring us the light of eternal life, we hope to share our light with others.
Throughout the day today, we can lighten our spirits as we turn to God and pray: Let me rejoice at the coming of your Son, for me!
I found this little potholder when we went shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Reminds me of the ones my grandmother used to make
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Eat a Red Apple Day is today. Apples are delicious. Apples are nutritious. That's a great combination. here are thousands of varieties of apples grown all over the planet. Your mission today, is to pick an apple among all of these varieties, and eat it
EASY APPLE CRISP
6 apple - peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup water
1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, melted
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Arrange apples in an even layer in bottom of baking dish. Pour water over apples.
- In a medium bowl mix together cake mix, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter or margarine until ingredients are thoroughly blended; mixture will be crumbly. Sprinkle mixture over apples.
- Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes.
I’ve not tried this one out but it sure seems easy enough.
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
December changeable and mild, the whole winter will remain a child
The grass is still green out back of my house. I took this picture on Sunday. Today though we’ll have a chance of a rain / snow mix so it won’t be staying like that very long

PRAYERS
Dear Lord, give me courage, give me trust, take away my crippling fears, lift me up when I feel like dropping
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU !
AROUND HOME
Work continues on my Christmas Prep…the days are getting shorter and shorter now…soon we’ll have the winter solstice and then the days will very slowly start getting longer again.
FAMILY ALBUM
These are my everyday dishes that have been around forever. My mom and I collected them a piece at a time at the grocery store many years ago.
They do have a nice wintry scene on them and could be used nicely for Christmas dinner too
COUNTING THE DAYS
Snow on Christmas means Easter will be green
20 DAYS UNTIL WINTER !
24 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
AND
136 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma
