ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
DECEMBER 26TH, 2009
It's SATURDAY…
I had a great Christmas this year, beginning with a visit my next door Sister and her family on Christmas Eve. Then Christmas Day I had a phone call from our Princess and then talked with DS#1 and when I went to church DS#6 and DD and her hubby joined me there. After church I went to visit with my youngest Sister and part of her family. They fed me and even sent home leftovers too.
You all know I love to eat but with all the goodies around here I’ll probably be toppling off my desk chair soon…rolly polly is my name.
In the evening DS#4 called to say Merry Christmas. They are leaving on a little family vacation today so I’ll be praying for a safe trip for them and a happy and relaxing vacation.
THINKING
On the 2nd day of Christmas my tr
ue love gave to me...
2 Turtle Doves which legend says stands for The Old and New Testaments
The 2nd Day of Christmas is the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Martyr. In the book of Acts we can read the story of his being sto
ned by an infuriated crowd.
Good King Wenceslas is a popular Christmas carol about a king who goes out to give alms to a poor peasant on the Feast of Stephen (the second day of Christmas, December 26). During the journey, his page is about to give up the struggle against the cold weather, but is enabled to continue by the heat miraculously emanating from the king's footprints in the snow. The legend is based on the life of the historical Saint Wenceslaus I, Duke of Bohemia
This is a picture of the Mincemeat Pie I got at the bakery.
mmmmm…good!

ATTIRE FOR TODAY
Cloudy, colder and chances of flurries is what the weather man says for today so I’ll be putting on a nice warm sweater to keep warm. As far as I know I won’t even have to go outside today unless I have to clear the porch and st
eps from some snow. It could be that I’ll just stay in and keep warm.
PRAYERS
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved
Psalms 55:22
Father, I ask You to bless my children, grandchildren, friends, relatives and e-mail buddies reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy. Where there is self doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace, In Jesus' precious name
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our t
roops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YO
U ALL!
AROUND HOME
I’m still enjoying all those bakery goodies. This is a loaf of cheesy bread that I got. I’ve made a sandwich or two with it and I’ve even had it toasted.
By the time I finish off the loaf, I’m sure I’ll be adding a pound or two to my weight also. Oh dear, but meanwhile I’ll just enjoy!
FAMILY ALBUM

That roll recipe is interesting! If it weren't for the fact that we, too, are roly-poly, I'd try it.
