ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is the Boston Marathon which is one of the most prestigious road racing events. People from all of the world come to Boston to run and watch this historic race.
The race takes place on the 3rd. Monday of April, which is also known as Patriot’s Day to Massachusetts and Maine.
The marathon has distinguished itself as on of the top road races because of it’s traditions, longevity and qualifications to enter the race. Just receiving entry into the Boston Marathon is a huge honor.
Today we also take time to remember the families and communities that were affected by the fateful events of the Boston Marathon bombings in 2013. They are in my thoughts and prayers .
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side

I’ve never been to Boston, nor have I ever ran a marathon. Truly I’m not a very athletic person in way or form. But I do appreciate those that are. We can only hope that Boston is having better weather than we are.
It was a wet and rainy weekend here and today we have a chance of showers again, but not quite as bad and it’s to be a little cooler with temps in the 40’s with a chance of snow later on. Remember April showers do bring May flowers! We can’t get along with out the rain, but we sure do appreciate it when the sun shines.
I don’t have any new pictures to share so I decided Spring flowers would have to do. They do have of way of making me look on the Bright Side.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
Hebrews 12:1
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5891. for athletes, distance racing shows endurance
5892. for patriots, brave and true
5893. for the April showers that bring May flowers
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The race is not always to the swift, but to those who can keep on running.

Wow. Hard to believe it's been 5 years since the bombing. Even tho' we don't go to the theater often -- and, of course knew the ending, we sure enjoyed the movie, "Patriot Day." How I recall watching the take-down live on TV when it was happening!
Never much of an athlete, I can't wrap my mind around that sort of passion to run ... but sure appreciate those who strive to better themselves.
I ran a bit when I was in my early 20s. Not a marathon, but a 10K (I think it was 6.2 miles). That was the only one I ran, LOL, but I do admire those that go out and run, especially in all weather conditions like rain, snow, ice, hot weather, etc. Did say a prayer this morning for the Boston marathon and for the safety of it, etc. We are enjoying some pleasant days here before the summer heat comes, nice not to run the air conditioner so early :)
