ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Volunteer Recognition Day which honors the many volunteers who dedicate themselves to causes and helping others. They make a difference in the lives of people all over the world. They are improving lives and providing comfort. They assists people, animals, and nature.
Most volunteers do not ask for recognition. They just want to help and give back where they can.
There are many groups and causes that need volunteer efforts and, the needs are so broad that everyone can find someplace to volunteer and make a difference. Volunteer activities are energizing and rewarding.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Wherever a man turns he can find someone who needs him.
Albert Schweitzer
There were many years that I volunteered at church, at school and with the Scouts, but these days, I mostly volunteer child care for some of my grandchildren or by occasionally baking or cooking something for one of their parties.
I guess I’ve reached the point in my life where I need more help than what I give at times. Still I do what I can and my family are my motivation in most cases and that keeps me busy and happy. The giving of your time for someone else is a very rewarding thing to do. When you help others, you also help your self.
We are to warm up somewhat today and it’s supposed to be mostly sunny. Matter of fact the long range forecast for all of next week is supposed to be warmer with temps in the 50’s and low 60’s with no snow in sight. Maybe Spring is finally taking a turn for the best. We’ll see...
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
We often take for granted the very things that most deserves our gratitude.
Cynthia Ozick
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5903. for volunteers that make a difference in the lives of many
5904. for a cake to bake, it means there is a party coming my way
5905. for sunshine today, no snow
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.
William James
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Hope so with your weather than spring is finally deciding to arrive. Volunteering indeed is good for one's self as well as helping other. I do miss the volunteering I did and that's why I'll be looking for something to get involved with here shortly. Since I'm off on Tuesdays, I'm going to look to see where I can volunteer on that day, perhaps at the rescue mission, we'll see.

I'm so taken with that fleur de lis(?) plate holder! I'm still unfamiliar with our new surroundings, but certainly recall the great feelings of giving back at Phoenix's Food Bank.
P.S. That's a wonderful picture of your sis and Aunt!
I am so very grateful for the volunteers that made a difference in my life and set such a great example for me. For all the Brownie and Girl Guide Leaders, the Sunday School Teachers, etc. I have long wanted to volunteer at our local hospital. I think life gets better when you give of yourself. Thanks for all that you share Pam! You're a star! xoxo
