For Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010
a pictorial journal
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
It's TUESDAY!
For the next couple of days we’ll be partly cloudy to mostly sunny so that is a good thing. Chances are we may see some sunshine. Both days also say there is a chance of snow, but nothing major coming our way and for that I am thankful!
The weather has become such a hot topic I think because everyone is ready for Spring.
March came in like a lamb here yesterday so you know what that means…be prepared.
THINKING
Anxiety is spending emotional energy on something we can do nothing about: like tomorrow! Live today and let God’s grace be sufficient
Every night, write down five things for which you are grateful. Try it. After a while, your outlook will change.
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Tuesdays are pasta night
Homemade Hamburger Helper
Into a smaller Dutch oven throw two pounds of ground beef keep cooking oil in mind if you buy lean from your grocer. A little butter in the pan always helps with the flavor too. Salt and pepper to taste.
Throw in about 1/2 a Spanish onion chopped up. Let it caramelize with the meat.
Add a can of tomato sauce, a clove of garlic minced, a couple of shakes of Worcestershire sauce for zip and let that bubble away simmering for about 30 minutes until the flavors meld.
Throw a box of pasta in. Don’t pre cook it, just throw it in straight from the box (Less dishwashing!) I like something with a spiral to hold the sauce. Add enough water to your pot to cover the pasta and let it simmer about ten minutes to cook the stuff.
Grate some cheese, like cheddar, but follow your own taste buds and stir that in. Once the cheese melts, you’re in business.
Spoon into bowls. You could add chopped chives or parsley for color. Or maybe a daub of sour cream would be the ticket?
There you are!
I forgot to write down exactly who or where I got this recipe from but it does sound like a good one. Quick and easy too!
PRAYERS
Jesus, I trust that you hear my prayers, and so I will keep coming to you. Lord, I trust you to give me the wisdom and grace to live a life pleasing to you
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AMEN
AROUND HOME
It has been much lighter in the mornings going to work and it’s not dark out now til about 6:30 in the evening. The days are getting longer for sure. March 14th is when daylight savings time begins so we’ll be SPRINGING FORWARD then.
Usually about the 15th of March I start to feel much better and have more energy too.
The Ides of March is a good day in my books.
FAMILY
Just about the time a woman thinks her work is done, she becomes a grandmother
Edward H. Dreschnack
The days ahead are going to be busy ones for me and I’m so looking forward to them. One of the things I’ve been meaning to do is to get reconnected on face book. Some of my children and a few of my friends have been after me to do so. Just as soon as I find some extra time on my hands I’m going to do that.
I used to have a phone on each floor of my home. 4 phones were installed in my house. Now I have one phone and I’ve learned to carry it around with me. Communication sure is different than it used to be
COUNTING THE DAYS
Days following both the new and full Moons are most likely to be rainy or stormy.
18 DAYS UNTIL SPRING !
45 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
30 DAYS UNTIL MA RETIRES
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma

It's a lovely bright start here today Ma but a keen frost with it too.I love your St Patrick ornamentals.I'll try the writing down of five things I am sure it will help plenty.Thankyou for that idea.I myself have had many requests sent to join Facebook.I should imagine Facebook is very addictive as computers are if you let them be.I myself do not wish to be on Facebook for various reasons, but I wish you well if you do go there.I just hope your postings don't lesson as many have done who seemd to have joined Facebook.I shall miss them as I do others.Suppose speaking with friends on there they now don't find enough to blog about realy.Have a Terrific Tuesday, safe journeys I hope the sun shines for you and you get a few smiles along the way.
Take Care God Bless Kath xx
There IS something about March and spring that give me more energy, too! I appreciate your "Thinking" section today; it's such good advice!
