ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MARCH 13TH, 2010
It's SATURDAY!
The nation switches to Daylight Saving Time tomorrow morning at 2:00. Early birds will spring forward an hour tonight at bedtime.
THIS IS THE 3RD AND FINAL WARNING!
I’ll be changing my clocks tonight before I go to bed. As far back as I can remember, I only forgot to do it one time and that was a long time ago, but it is upsetting when you find out you’ve arrived for church an hour early. It’s better than being late though.
THINKING
During the season of Lent we often give up things and I find myself thinking I’ve already given up sunlight and color for months now. The winter landscape in all its beauty is something I think we are all tired of. Thankfully Spring will soon be here. I’m ready to give up winter and experience a little color in my life.

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
I couldn’t believe all the things that are growing already outside our house since the snow melted. The oregano is alive and starting to appear. By the time summer gets here it’ll be a huge plant. It comes back again year after year.
Walking around our place outside is a delight once things get going…the smells are heavenly and fresh herbs used in flavoring things you cook is so much better than the using dried ones you buy in the store.
Now that I think about it I didn’t notice any chives starting to come up but they should be very soon. Soon we’ll be working outdoors cleaning up all the leaves and things in the flower beds and the yard. It’s going to be the kind of work I enjoy!
PRAYERS
Lord, help us to see people through your eyes and to reach out to them unselfishly

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AROUND HOME
Last week we still had around a foot of snow on the ground. This week I see signs of new life coming up everywhere . My azalea bush which was really buried has once again survived the winter. I’m glad it endured the heavy snow that had it covered for so long.
After looking at nothing but snow for months now, it is just wonderful seeing something else.
FAMILY
This weekend there are no family gatherings or celebrations going on here. Tomorrow is DDIL#6’s birthday but we celebrated that together last weekend. None the less I’m sure it will be a special day for her as it is her very first birthday as a mom. She’ll never forget this one.
COUNTING THE DAYS
Beware the RIDES OF MARCH! This time of year the potholes appear with the daffodils. Pothole repairs are up 30% in some places.

Spring is indeed springing here as well! I panicked for a second thinking that I had completely forgotten about the time change. Thankfully ours doesn't happen for two more weeks. Whew!!! I'm not late afterall!!
