It's WEDNESDAY…
BrrrChill!
It is cold out. We’ve a little snow now but not much. Yesterday it got much colder and the rain changed to snow by evening. Thankfully I’ve now got that handy dandy car starter so my car is all warm and waiting for me when I leave for work each morning!
I talked to DS#4 the other evening and he is traveling for work again this week. I’ll be keeping him in my prayers as always for safe travels. Between he and DS#2 one or the other is always traveling it seems. He said they would have met up in the same place except for the fact that their conferences were a week apart.
THINKING
Advent is the time of hope, a time to renew the light of Christ in our lives.
As He came to bring us the light of eternal life, we hope to share our light with others.

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Chocolate Mint Coffee Spoons
Try a Chocolate Mint Coffee
It’s as tasty as can be
And while you drink it
You can think of me
Supplies:
Red plastic spoons
2 Hershey chocolate bars without nuts
Crushed peppermint
Gold ribbon
Instructions:
Melt the Hershey bars in a double-boiler pan
Dip the spoons in the melted chocolate
Immediately dip the chocolate covered spoon in crushed peppermint
Let dry on wax paper
Tie a thin gold ribbon on spoon handle
Print the poem above, punch a hole in the corner and attach
the poem with the ribbon.
This craft makes a great gift for teachers or grandparents

It is looking like we won’t make it out of the 20’s today and we may have a few more flurries too.
PRAYERS
God of glory, I confess that I often spend more time anticipating material gifts than I do anticipating your coming. During this Advent season, set my mind and my heart on you, and remind me to be searching diligently for a glimpse of you.

our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AROUND HOME
This my trusty snow shovel which was a gift for Christmas in 2005. Believe it or not it does still have the bow on it even though I’ve used it every winter since then. I think it gives it a cheery touch when I’m out shoveling snow.
On my list of things to take to DS#5’s house for Saturday is
Ham
Buns
Chips
Veggie Tray
Sherbet for the Frothy Slosh
And the rest of the gifts
I do hope I’m not forgetting anything…

This is the year DS#5 got his Red Ryder for Christmas. He we very excited to say the least. It was a surprise and those kind of gifts are the best!

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.
Therefore, according to every historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, every single one of them, from Rudolf to Blitzen ... had to be a female.
