ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
DECEMBER 24TH, 2009
It's THURSDAY…
I am celebrating today as I have the whole day off. I thought I’d only have ½ day but the boss said there was not much going on and I could stay home today. What a blessing and just when I needed some extra time off too.
Here is a beautiful link I’m sharing with you all today…
This year’s Jacquie Lawson’s Christmas card

Just beautiful!
THINKING
An Irish Christmas Blessing for you and yours
The light of the Christmas star to you
The warmth of home and hearth to you
The cheer and good will of friends to you
The hope of a childlike heart to you
The joy of a thousand angels to you
The love of the Son and
God's peace to you.
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
A Classic Party Dip for the Holidays
Chipped Beef Rye Boat
2 packages dry beef
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon chopped or minced onion
1 teaspoon beau monde seasoning
1 teaspoon dill weed
2 loaves round rye bread
Shred or chop dry beef and put in a bowl.
Add all ingredients (except bread) into the bowl. Mix together well.
Place the dip in the refrigerator to chill.
Cut the top off one of the rye breads.
Hollow out the center of the loaf.
Cut into cubes the top and hollowed out center section of rye bread.
Cut the second rye loaf into cubes .
Pour the dip into the hollowed out loaf.
Place the boat onto a platter and serve.
Note: To make a smaller quantity, cut all portions by 1/2. You can also serve the dip in a bowl, and use just one loaf of rye.
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
It sounds like a great day for winter time. We’ll be only partly cloudy with a high of 40 degrees!
PRAYERS
Lord God, thank you for showing us your mercy by sending your Son to lead us to the light
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
As I hadn’t planned on a whole day off today so I’m not exactly sure what I’ll be up to. There is the normal house hold chores to be done but I think I’ll just be lazy instead. A lot of people go to church on Christmas Eve, but I’ll be going tomorrow at my usual time for church on Sunday which is at 11:00 in the morning.

COUNTING THE DAYS
May peace and plenty be the first to lift the latch on your door, and happiness be guided to your home by the candle of Christmas
Do you put a candle in the window at Christmas time as part of your decoration? Candles in the window date back to ancient time’s laws of hospitality towards stronger. To have a light in your window on Christmas Eve to welcome the stranger meant that you were welcoming the Holy Family too. To have no light meant that you shared the guilt of the Innkeeper at Bethlehem who said, No Room
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
85 DAYS UNTIL SPRING !
1 DAY UNTIL CHRISTMAS
AND
113 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
