TODAY'S THOUGHT
Let every dawn of morning be to you as the beginning of life, and every setting sun be to you as its close
John Ruskin

TODAY’S QUOTE
You've got to get up every morning with a smile on your face, and show the world all the love in your heart.
Carole King
IT’S MONDAY !!
BACK TO WORK!
It is supposed to be a gorgeous party sunny day close to 50 today. I know I’ll feel a whole lot better for it too!
I took some before and after shots of our snow on Friday and then on Sunday if you want to take a look. They are on my journal page ‘What’s New at My House’. The link is always at the end of every newsletter. After another warm day I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more snow gone too.
I haven’t ask anyone lately, but I guess I should. Do you still like getting this e-mail every day? If you ever get tired of it, please just let me know and I’ll take you off my mailing list. Some people have been getting this letter every morning for lots of years now and since we’re into the New Year I thought I’d better ask.
Sunday was a quiet one and I did a lot of relaxing too. I even got some leftover Chili out of the freezer and heated it up for my dinner. I just didn’t feel like cooking. Leftovers are always nice to have around.
On my calendar for after work this coming week is a hair cut on Tuesday and my Bible Study on Thursday. Then this coming Saturday morning DD and I head off to do our annual President’s Day shopping at the outlet mall. We used to go on the Monday that was the actual holiday, but with her new job she has to work Mondays. It looks like it will be a pretty good week.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S SMILE
Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth’s rite of passage? His dad would take him into the forest blindfolded, and leave him – alone. He was required to sit on a stump the whole night...and not take off the blindfold until a ray of sun shone through it. He would be all by himself. He could not cry out for help to anyone. Once he survived the night he would be a MAN... He could not tell the other boys of this experience. Each lad must come into his own manhood.
The boy was terrified...could hear all kinds of noise. Beasts were all around him. Maybe even some human would hurt him. The wind blew the grass and earth, and it shook his stump. But he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could be a man. Finally, after a horrific night, the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he saw his father – sitting on the stump next to him – at watch the entire night.
We are never alone..... Even when we do not know it, our Father is protecting us. He is sitting on the stump beside us

TODAY’S REFLECTION
This is My commandment, that you love one another,
just as I have loved you.
John 15:12
A certain medieval monk announced he would be preaching next Sunday evening on “The Love of God.”
On that day as the shadows fell and the light ceased to come in through the cathedral windows, the congregation gathered. In the darkness of the altar, the monk lighted a candle and carried it to the crucifix. First of all, he illumined the crown of thorns, next, the two wounded hands, then the marks of the spear wound and then the two wounded feet.In the hush that fell, he blew out the candle and left the chancel.
There was nothing else to say.
