TODAY'S THOUGHT
The secret of contentment is the realization that life is a gift not a right.
TODAY’S ACTION
Trouble is a part of your life, and if you don't share it, you don't give the person who loves you a chance to love you enough.
Dinah Shore
TODAY’S QUOTE
You can't change the past, but you can ruin a perfectly good present by worrying about the future

IT’S FRIDAY !!
Anyone ready for the weekend?
I am for sure !!!
We are supposed to have warmer temps which means there will definitely be some melting going on in our neck of the woods. I’m going to try and remember to take pictures before, during and after. It’s been a very long time that these huge piles of snow have been on the ground.
I noticed on the way home from work yesterday that some of the piles along the road side had trenches cut into to them. I have never seen this done before, but I’m thinking it must be something to do with drainage.
There is as always lots to do around home so that is the plan for the weekend. I’m still trying to catch up from my day away last weekend.
Take good care all !
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Lord Jesus, help me to have faith in your works
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God,
and in God’s time all things will be made well.
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Lame Duck Day is set aside to give recognition to people whose tenure in a position is running out.
Okay, so you are probably thinking that a "lame duck" is a duck with some sort of injury. If only that were the reason for toady! Rather, a "Lame Duck" by human, definition is a person who is in a position of some kind, and will soon be "shown the door". The best example is an incumbent politician who lost in the November elections. They usually remain in office until the beginning of January. It also applies to leaders, managers, etc, who are retiring or whose term of office is up.
During the interim period, a Lame Duck is usually far less effective, and frequently ineffective. After all, loyalties will soon shift
If you are a Lame Duck: Enjoy those final days. Reflect upon you successes, and the joys and rewards the position provided to you. Kick back a little and have some fun today, and in the remaining days.
If you know a Lame Duck: Supporters should provide recognition and support. Non-supporters can cut the Lame Duck a little slack today. They will soon be gone

TODAY’S SMILE
The following is from a 1950's Home Economics textbook intended for the High School girls, teaching how to prepare for married life.
1. Have dinner ready: Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal - on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him, and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospects of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.
2. Prepare yourself: Take 15 minutes to rest so you will be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.
3. Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up school books, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too.
4. Prepare the children: Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces if they are small, comb their hair, and if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.
5. Minimize the noise: At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of washer, dryer, dishwasher, or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him. Greet him with a warm smile and be glad to see him.
6. Some DON'TS: Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he's late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day.
7. Make him comfortable: Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.
8. Listen to him: You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.
9. Make the evening his: Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment; instead try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his need to be home and relax.
10. The Goal: Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can relax.

One more…
If you want to be happy, healthy, successful, and live longer, give your spouse a kiss before you go to work each day. That's the conclusion of a study conducted by a group of German physicians and psychologists, in cooperation with insurance companies.
According to Dr. Arthur Sazbo, the study found that those who kiss their spouse each morning miss less work because of illness than those who do not. They also have fewer auto accidents on the way to work. They earn 20 to 30 percent more money and they live about five years more than those who don't even give each other a peck on the cheek.
The reason for this, says Dr. Sazbo, is that the kissers begin the day with a positive attitude.

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.Be mindful of prisoners as if sharing their imprisonment, and of the ill-treated as of yourselves, for you also are in the body…
Hebrews 13: 1-8
In our church we often sing this song and it does say so much
One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
one cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many, through out the earth,
we are one body in this one Lord.
