ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MONDAY,NOVEMBER 1ST, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

The month of November is American Diabetes Month, American Indian Heritage Month, Aviation History Month, Banana Pudding Lovers Month, Epilipsy Awareness Month, Mowvember, National Adoption Month, National PPSI AIDS Awareness Month, National Alzheimer’s Month, National Georgia Pecan Month, National Gratitude Month, National Family literacy Month, National Peanut Butter Lovers Month, and Picture Book Month,
Today is All Saints Day which is also called All Hallows or Hallowmas. It falls on the day after All Hallows Eve, Halloween.
Dedicating a specific day to individual saints and martyrs is an ancient Christian tradition and the feast of All Saints can be traced back to 837 AD.
All Saints’ Day celebrations take place all across the world. In Spain, the play Don Juan Tenorio is performed each year. In many European counties, people bring flowers to the graves of deceased relatives. In Mexico it coincides with Dil de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead.
All Hallows Eve, All Saints’ Day, and All Souls Day are collectively known as Hallowtide. To celebrate today take a moment to remember all those who have come before you.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
Ephesians 6:18 KJV
I think we are all Saints in the making. I’m not a finished product yet, the good Lord is still working on me.
We are assured that there are Saints in heaven in the Bible and I believe in the Word of God.
Remember we are all works in progress. None of us is perfect.
It will be a good day for me to visit the cemetery and take some flowers to decorate the gravesites of my loved ones that have gone before me. And since my sister lives on the way to the cemetery, I should also stop by and visit her too.
Monday’s are always my day to cook up something new to eat too and on the menu today is:
Stuffed Pepper Soup
Makes 8 servings
2 pounds lean ground beef
6 cups water
1 can, 28 oz. tomato sauce
1 can 28 oz diced tomatoes, undrained
2 cups chopped green peppers
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp beef bouillon granuales
1 tsp. pepper
2 cups cooked long grain rice
Chopped fresh parsley, optional
In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook and stir beef until no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles, drain. Stir in next 8 ingredients, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer, uncovered, until peppers are tender.About 30 minutes
Add cooked rice, simmer, uncovered 10 minutes longer. If desired, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
I’ll be having this with some Cheddar Biscuits or maybe some cornbread. The soup alone makes a complete meal. One cup equals one serving.
It’s to be a partly sunny day here with temps close to 50 degrees, the warmest day of the week. So some hot soup is going to be really good.
The pictures today are of one of my visits to the cemeteries where my loved ones are buried .
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week and new month. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I most certainly believe that it is the gift of God that I am what I am. And so I dwell amongst barbarians, a proselyte and an exile, for the love of God.
St. Patrick
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9669 for all the saints watching over us in heaven
9670.for a good hot soup to enjoy
9671.for a day when we might see some sunshine!
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Love is not to be purchased , and affection has no price.
St. Jerome
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Hot soup is extra good when the weather turns cold.
Banana pudding AND peanut butter? This is going to be a GREAT month, lol.
I've not done so before, but the last couple years have discovered how versatile and GOOD peppers are. I'm hoping our weather cools down enough soon that I dare (*smile*) turn on our oven and starting baking.
Getting in the mood ............
