ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MONDAY,NOVEMBER 8TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is National Cuppuccino Day which celebrates a frothy coffee drink created in the 1600’s . It got its name from the Italian order of monks known as the Capuuchins, a group of friars that wore dark brown hoods, similar to the color of the drink.
Prepared with espresso, hot milk and a cap of foam, cappuccino is the customary way to jumpstart your day in Italy. In Western Europe , it’s just the opposite; cappuccino is most popular as an after dinner drink.
To celebrate today, treat yourself to a kick of caffeine !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Beige is atmosphere. It is bisque, it’s ivory, it’s cream, it’s toast, it’s cappuccino, it’s well, it’s magic.
Albert Hadley
I do have some cappuccino on hand so I’ll be celebrating today. Mine is a powdered mix that you combine with water. It’s good and I have it often when the weather gets cold out.
I do have it more often in the afternoon or after dinner. In the morning I like my coffee black and steaming. I always start the day with a kick of caffeine. I guess you’d say I’m addicted to it. A day without coffee just wouldn’t be the same.
It’s looking like a beautiful day here and I’m hoping to be able to spend some time on the porch. Maybe even enjoy a cup of cappuccino out there this afternoon.
It’s also my day to cook up something new and on the menu for today is:
Italian Turkey Meatballs
Makes 12 servings
Meatballs:
3 slices white bread torn into small pieces
1/2 cup milk
2 lbs lean ground turkey
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup fresh parsley
2 eggs, slightly beaten
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Sauce:
2 onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cans, 28 oz. crushed tomatoes in puree
2 cans, 6 oz., tomato paste
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 bay leaves
Hot cooked pasta, if desired
Additional minced fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat broiler. Combine bread and milk in a large bowl, let stand until liquid is absorbed. Add next 8 ingredients, mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape in to 1 1/2 inch balls, place on a greased baking sheet or broiler pan. Broil until lightly browned.
For sauce: in a slow cooker, mix the next 9 ingredients. Add bay leaves and meatballs. Gently stir into sauce.Cook covered on low until meatballs are cooked through, 4 to 5 hours. Discard bay leaves. Serve with pasta, if desired and sprinkle with additional parsley and Parmesan cheese.
I’ll be cutting this recipe in half as it makes enough for a crowd, and I will be having my meatballs on a bun instead of over pasta. I love meatball sandwiches and sprinkle mine with mozzarella cheese. The meatballs do freeze well and if I made the whole recipe I could freeze half for another time.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

Enjoy a cup of hot cup of capuccinno today and celebrate !
Good morning, from one 'addict' to another!
I agree, those powdered drink mixes are really good. I used to buy the Cafe Vienna, but keep capuccinno nearby, too. It's been about a year, so I need to go check and make sure it's still good.
