ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MONDAY NOVEMBER 29TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Cyber Monday which is a marketing term for the Monday immediately following, Black Friday, the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States. The term made its debut in 2005 in a shape dot org press release entitled, Cyber Monday Quickly Becoming the Biggest Online Shopping Days of the year.
Cyber Monday is also used as a marketing term in the United Kingdom, France, Portugal and Germany. In these countries, Cyber Monday sales last for 8 days typically from the last Monday in November to the first Monday in December.
Celebrating today is easy. Simply do some online shopping.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Only one shopping day left ’till tomorrow.

I don’t do a lot of online shopping, but I do like the convenience of it. I’d really rather go to the store and actually see the merchandise before I buy something. But I think that today I’ll be checking to see what sales are available.
I’m a sale shopper and usually don’t buy anything unless it is on sale. Otherwise I don’t need it. I have enough of everything I need that I can go without until it does go on sale. My house is well stocked with everything I could possibly use unless it wears out or breaks.
More than not, if I do need something, my kids will get it for me as a gift. They do take good care of me and I’m thankful for that.
Today is the time I cook up something new to eat for the week ahead and on the menu is;
Turkey and Wild Rice Soup
Makes 12 servings
1/2 cup butter, cubed
2 carrots, finely chopped
2 celery ribs, finely chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup flour
4 cups chicken or turkey broth
2 cups cooked wild rice
2 cups cubed cooked turkey
2 cups half and half cream
1 tsp dried parsley flakes
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
In a Dutch oven, heat butter over medium high heat. Add carrots, celery, and onions. Cook and stir until tender.
Stir in flour until blended, cook until bubbly. Gradually stir in broth, bring to a boil stirring constantly, cook and stir until thickened.
Stir in remaining ingredients, return to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer, uncovered 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
This is a large recipe for a crowd, so I’ll only make 1/2 the recipe for my self and still have plenty leftover for later on. It’s always nice to have a bowl of soup for lunch.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

ADVICE FOR TODAY

It's a great Monday to do some online shopping!
Good looking GRAND-son you've got there, Ma! Happy Monday!
Shopping in a store at this time is claustrophobic for me. So shopping on like it great.
