WELCOME FALL!
89 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
Sunrise: 7:16 am
Sunset: 7:24 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Autumnal Equinox Day. Fall begins. The Autumn equinox signals the beginning of Fall. It is the point where there is exactly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness at the equator. If you live anywhere else, however, you will see a little bit more or a little bit less than 12 hours of daylight. The daylight hours are dwindling and will continue to do so until we reach the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year and the start of winter.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
There is a harmony
In autumn, and a lustre in its sky,
Which through the summer is not heard or seen,
As if it could not be, as if it had not been!
Percy Bysshe Shelley
The weather is to be hot here today. Close to 90 degrees they say, so it certainly doesn’t feel like Fall at all, but the leaves are falling from the tree out front. It always turns color and looses leaves before any other tree on our street.
Next week is supposed to bring us cooler days with temps in the lower 70’s and that is my kind of weather. Not too hot and not too cold. Just right for sure !
The pictures today are of our last hurrah to summer celebrated this past Sunday at a picnic in the park. It was a lovely day!
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s White Chocolate Day!
When most people think of chocolate, they think of the rich brown sultry color of milk or dark chocolate.
But during the process of making chocolate, there’s a point when two magical options are available, the rich dark chestnut of traditional chocolate, or the pure white angelic path that is the way of White Chocolate.
White chocolate was invented by the Nestlé company in Switzerland. The first white chocolate bar debuted in 1930. According to the regulations, true white chocolate must contain at least 20% cocoa butter, 14% total milk solids, 3.5% milk fat, and less than 63% sugar.
Pick up a scrumptious white chocolate truffle or a package of white chocolate covered pretzels to celebrate!
I saw this recipe that I thought might appeal to a lot of my grand babes so I’m sharing with you all today.
White Chocolate Lucky Charms Cookies
2½ cups Lucky Charms cereal, no marshmallows
1 cup butter, 2 sticks, room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
tsp salt
1 cup marshmallows from cereal
½ cup white chocolate chips
½ cup Lucky Charms cereal, no marshmallows, roughly chopped if desired
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line baking sheets with parchment paper. In a food processor, process 2 ½ cups cereal without marshmallows until a fine powder. Set aside.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat butter until smooth. Add sugars, and beat on medium high speed until smooth and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add eggs and beat until combined. Add processed cereal, flour, baking soda, and salt and mix on low medium speed until combined. Stir in marshmallows, white chocolate chips and additional ½ cup cereal.
Roll into balls using about 1tbsp of dough each. Place on a baking sheet 2 inches apart Bake at 350 degrees F for 7-8 minutes. Decorate with remaining 1/2 cup Lucky Charms
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I love fall! Fall is exciting.
It's apples and cider.
It's an airborne spider.
It's pumpkins in bins.
It's burrs on dog's chins.
It's wind blowing leaves.
It's chilly red knees.
It's nuts on the ground.
It's a crisp dry sound.
It's green leaves turning
And the smell of them burning.
It's clouds in the sky.
It's fall. That's why...
I love fall.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.

What a cute poem about fall! Looked lke everyone had fun at your picnic. I like the cooler temps of fall, just not losing the light so early.
