86 DAYS UNTIL WINTER

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Binge Day. Thankfully celebrating Binge Day is a bit of a no brainer, you just have to pick your favorite show or shows and take a day devouring them all in a grand feast of fandom. There’s no reason you have to do it alone either, gather your friends together and binge watch your favorite shows together! If you want to get creative include themed foods and snacks to keep you going through the night, decorate your house to suit the series of the evening, and order a cake with special decorations. After all, binge watching isn’t just about eating up a series all in one sitting, it’s about celebrating the joy and relaxation they bring into your life.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Sitting on the Porch: Not a Place, But a State of Mind
I have to admit that there are times I binge watch my favorite shows. I like the fact that I can now hit pause and get up and do a few things like changing the washer and dryer around and then return to watch the rest of the show. Some days I rest more than I work and taking a break and watching the next episode of one of my favorites is a great way to do it.
A survey defined a binge as viewing between two to six episodes of a show in one sitting. So maybe I’m not actually bingeing. I do get up and do some house work in between.
Thanks to sites like Netflix, not only do we have all access passes to every episode of nearly all of our favorite shows, and these networks have further encouraged binge watching by releasing entire seasons of their original programs all at once.
I also like to take time to binge out on the porch, watching the leaves fall. It’s really my favorite place to relax when the weather permits. It won’t be long till the days will get too cold to spend much time outdoors just sitting on the porch. I think I should save the TV for those cold days to come. And there will be plenty of those ahead. I have a shady porch and a sunny patio what more could anyone want.
The pictures shown are from last year here at my house. Right now the leaves are just beginning to fall.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Cooking Day!
We rush and we scramble trying to make it through our day, rushed for breakfast, rushed for lunch and exhausted for dinner. There are many times we don’t feel like cooking for sure. Cooking Day reminds us that there’s nothing that quite matches the flavor and comfort of a delicious home cooked meal, and that learning how to cook is an important skill to enhance our health and pass tradition on to our friends and family.
Thankfully there are a ton of different websites out there with a variety of different recipes and ways of preparing meals. I do prefer home cooking to eating out these days. I’m used to my own cooking and like it. Last year I tried to prepare a new recipe every week and found a lot of new things to cook and liked them too.
Today’s recipe is an old favorite and easy to make too. Just perfect for tough days when you need some pampering.
One Pan Beef and Noodles
3/4 pound boneless beef top round steak, 3/4 inch thick cut into very thin strips
1 dash ground black pepper
1 can Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 3/4 cups Beef Broth
1/2 cup water
1 large onion, sliced
4 ounces uncooked egg noodles
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Season the beef with the black pepper. Cook the beef in a nonstick skillet over medium high heat until it's well browned, stirring often. Remove the beef from the skillet. Pour off any fat.
Stir the soup, broth, water and onion in the skillet and heat to a boil. Stir in the noodles. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes or until the noodles are tender, stirring often.
Stir the sour cream in the skillet. Return the beef to the skillet. Cook until the mixture is hot and bubbling, stirring often. Sprinkle with the parsley, if desired.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Friends are the pillars on your porch. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes they lean on you, and sometimes it's just enough to know that they are standing by.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Love the quote from Julia Child! Did you see the film about her where she was played by Meryl Streep? It was good!
Fun to binge on TV shows. I like the few times hubby goes out of town to be able to watch what I want to watch. Pretty pictures of previous falls. Have a great Sunday!

I haven't been bitten the Netflix bug yet! So I'll use this binge day for eating!! Have a great Sunday!!
Yay, another recipe my DH will love. He's still 'into' making large meals and dividing/freezing them in individual portions ... and most contain noodles!
Reading the definition of 'binge', no ... I don't think I've ever done that. Yet! Haven't taken the Netflix plunge just yet, but I can see where it's an attractive option.
The one pan beef and noodles recipe sounds delicious Pam! My problem is that I binge too much, haha. I am not a halfway kind of person. I love binging on my favourite shows like you, and on netflix. Right now I am into the Gilmore Girls. I don't know why I didn't watch it when it was on the telly? Nevermind I am enjoying it now! Have a fabulous Week. God bless! xoxo
