Life is a Special Occasion!

September 4th is Lazy Moms Day. Whether you are a lazy mom, or just aspire to have a day off and become a lazy mom, Lazy Mom’s Day could be right up your street. Even on Mother’s Day, moms across the world cook, clean, and generally work hard to keep their households functioning. On Lazy Mom’s Day, moms are encouraged to relax, take a back seat, and simply be lazy.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I make no secret of the fact that I would rather lie on a sofa than sweep beneath it. But you have to be efficient if you're going to be lazy.
Shirley Conran
I have taken full advantage of being lazy this summer. I’ve done less and less and have been lazier than ever. I don’t remember a time when I’ve done so little. I’m hoping that when we finally get a little cooler out, my energy will return.
I know for a fact that being a mom is a full time job, but all my children are grown and gone from home now, so I really don’t have anyone to care for these days, but there is much I’d like to prepare for and get done before the holidays are upon us.
I found a Lazy Day recipe for dessert to share with all of you. No baking. It is still too hot to turn the oven on.
No Bake Cherry Cheesecake Cookie Lasagna
1 box Nilla Wafers
8 ounces soft cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar
8 ounce tub cool whip
½ cup cherry preserves
1 can cherry pie filling
Line a loaf pan with Nilla Wafers across bottom.
In a mixer beat cream cheese and sugar. When smooth, beat in cool whip.
Spread half the cheesecake mixture over the cookies gently.
Stir the preserves to loosen them and dollop over the cheesecake mixture. Spread gently.
Add another layer of Nilla Wafers and top with the rest of the cheesecake mix.
Pour on the Cherry Pie Filling.
Refrigerate overnight and serve with some whipped cream! YUM!
The decorating for fall is slowly coming along. It’s hard when it’s hot outside and it feels like summer, not fall like at all. The warm and fuzzy throws that I usually get out of the attic are still there in the attic, they’ll remain there until it cools down. There will be more things to add when Halloween and Thanksgiving come along too. Thankfully it’s cool in the basement where most everything else is stored.
Looking at the long range forecast it won’t be cooler here until Thursday of next week. Maybe I’ll be done with the decorating by then. Meanwhile, I’m lazy, just trying to keep cool and moving slowly.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.
Jules Renard
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3097. for lazy days, I’m having lots of them
3098. for a cool basement to work in
3099. for all moms and all they do for their families
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
There is no cure for laziness but a large family helps.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought

I think if you have the advantage to be lazy, Ma, enjoy it :) Its one of the benefits of a hard working life to get to retirement and to be able to slow down a bit and relax and move at a slower pace :) That cheesecake lasagna recipe sounds delicious!
