Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Fall began today, September 23rd, early in the morning at 4:21 A.M. The autumnal equinox is defined as the point at which the Sun appears to cross the celestial equator from north to south. The celestial equator is the circle in the celestial sphere halfway between the celestial poles. Another definition of fall is nights of below freezing temperatures combined with days of temperatures below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The word equinox means equal night; night and day are about the same length of time.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Summer ends, and Autumn comes, and he who would have it otherwise would have high tide always and a full moon every night; and thus he would never know the rhythms that are at the heart of life.
Hal Borland
While we haven’t had any below freezing temps here yet, the days are almost equal as far as our daylight time and night time. Our temps are in the upper 70’s for a few days now and it still feels like summer. I’m not complaining at all but enjoying it to the fullest.
I like to make a bucket list every season of what I’d like to do and while mine isn’t exactly like the one above, it does include most of the things and a whole lot more. I’m not talking about anything expensive or daring, but things like
making pumpkin pies
sipping spiced cider
going to an apple orchard
enjoying some roasted pumpkin seeds
popping popcorn
baking acorn squash filled with apples and raisins
simmering pot full of spices and apple or orange peals, makes the house smell good
There are so many things to do and enjoy in the fall of the year that my list is endless it seems. Best of all comes the preparation for the holidays. We have Thanksgiving and Christmas to get ready for and for me that takes some doing, especially since I’m living life in the slow lane these days.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There is a harmony
In autumn, and a luster in its sky…
Percy Bysshe Shelley
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3154. for the Autumn season and so many things to enjoy
3155. for pumpkins and apples, truly the best time of year for them
3156. for lingering summer like temps
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
92 Days Until Christmas
Time to start on stocking stuffers, plan Halloween costumes, and begin working on Christmas cards or letters this week. Don't miss the last clearance sales in the back to school aisle! Heavily discounted craft supplies, gadgets and school goodies make great stocking stuffers!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Autumn is the perfect time to take account of what we’ve done, what we didn’t do, and what we’d like to do next year.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I forgot that today was the first day of fall, but our temps didn't. First time I woke up and felt the chill in the house so knew it was a cooler morning outside. I like your bucket list for fall and that acorn squash with apples and raisins sounds delicious!
betty
Happy Fall!! :)
