Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Get Ready Day. Being prepared to deal with an emergency is important for anyone and this is what Get Ready Day is all about. It is celebrated each year as a way of encouraging individuals, families, and communities to consider what is required in the event of natural disasters, pandemic illnesses, infectious diseases, and other crisis events. The day was first established in the mid 2000’s by the Public Health Association.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.
Dalai Lama
Preparation for most anything helps to get it done right and on time. I like to prepare for the holidays and take my time doing it so I start now. Once fall kicks in the time flies. Everyone gets busier and there is a lot to do.
I think that the preparation is half the fun. Getting ready for a celebration takes some work but can include a lot of fun too. So I started on my countdown today. Hopefully I’ll have some tips to share each day.
It was very exciting here at my house yesterday as the abandoned house next door was demolished. They had it down before noon and are now doing the clean up. That is what the pictures are of today.
I saw this recipe on line for 7 can soup and thought it’s be good to share now that soup weather is almost inevetable
1 can Chili
1 can 15-ounce Kidney Beans
1 can Pinto Beans
1 can Black Beans
1 can Diced Tomatoes
1 can Corn
1 can Rotel
Salt And Pepper, to taste
8 ounces Velveeta, cubed
Without draining the cans, empty the corn, chili, kidney beans, pinto beans, black beans, tomatoes and tomatoes with green chilies into a large pot over high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes to bring all the flavors together. Add salt and pepper as needed.
Dice the cheese and stir it into the soup until melted. Serve immediately.
I got up early this morning as I have to be someplace special at 8:15. Not used to being out until much later in the day. Usually not dressed until about noon. This morning I’m getting ready!
I hope you all have aTERRIFIC Tuesday!
Whatever we are waiting for - peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance - it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart.

101 Days Until Christmas
Hard to believe but it won’t be long at all until the holiday season is upon us. Time to get things organized and some fall house cleaning done so when the time comes we'll be ready. My calendar says that this week we should pay attention to the master bedroom. Getting the closet organized and cleaning out under the bed. Mine needs it that’s for sure.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Miracles come in moments. Be ready and willing.
Wayne Dyer
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3130. for readiness, it does make things easier
3131. for preparation, half the fun
3132. for a breakfast with one of my grandsons this morning
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY

Your right...! Getting ready is half the fun...I've already started stocking the large pantry downstairs for the winter......Just 'n case...!!
That must have been fun to watch that house come down. I hope you enjoy whatever special event you got up early for :)
I just finished reading a book about a flu pandemic. It was fiction, but it made me think about being sure we have some more emergency supplies; one does need to be prepared :)
betty
I always like to prepare for different occasions and yes, I think it is half the fun.
I try and keep our pantry stocked with canned goods and especially water since you never know with the storms this time of the year where I live.
Hope your day is blessed.
