Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Pardon Day is today. Its an opportunity to seek forgiveness where needed. Today is also a day to say Pardon Me, or Excuse Me, as appropriate. In today's busy society, too many people race about their lives, forgetting the small courtesies in life. Among the easiest things to let slip by, is etiquette.
Use Pardon Day to reaffirm your manners. Say Pardon Me or Excuse Me as appropriate. People will like you more. You can also use this day to seek pardon or forgiveness for mistakes and grievances you have committed. Take the opportunity to clean the slate and start anew.
The origin of Pardon Day goes back to the Presidential Pardon granted by President Gerald Ford to previous president Richard Nixon which occurred on September 8th, 1974.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Respect for ourselves guides our morals, respect for others guides our manners.
Laurence Sterne
Begging your pardon today, but I’m going to stress the importance of manners a little bit. It seems a lot of people are just to busy to use them. To say pardon me when walking in front of someone used to be the norm. Not so much anymore. To say excuse me when interrupting someone’s conversation is also part of using your manners.
No matter who you are, where you live, or what you do, communication skills, etiquette and good manners count. A good rule to follow is to treat people the way you yourself would like to be treated, with respect and politeness.
It was a very quiet Labor Day weekend here at my house. I hope you all had a good one and are ready for a new work week to begin. Things will be about norm here and it looks like after at least one more day of hot weather, we will finally cool down a bit after some showers come our way tomorrow. Whew ! I’m ready for a break!
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3109. for manners, they do count
3110. for forgiveness, it is a gift to both the giver and the receiver
3111. for cooler temps coming our way
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what fork you use.
Emily Post
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Interesting about Pardon Day; I hadn't heard about it before or how it came to be. It is so true that we don't quite have the manners we used to; not sure if that is because parents aren't teaching it to their kids or what, but I do still use "excuse me" quite a bit especially at stores to maneuver the aisles. Glad to hear your weather is cooling down a bit soon!
betty
Sometimes I feel like I am the only one left in the world that says "Pardon me" to people... and 99% of them say "You're okay"... like it's some affirmation of my worth.
15 days til fall... yayyyy!
