Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Swap Ideas Day is always celebrated on September 10th and it encourages us to share and trade ideas and concepts. It promotes the notion that knowledge grows best when shared and that best ideas come about through teamwork. As you fully participate in this day, I think you will get plenty of good ideas to put to use in your everyday life. Some will be so good, that you will want to pass them along, or swap them, to others.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A half-baked idea is okay as long as it's in the oven.

The best idea I’ve come across lately is a recipe for making your own oven cleaner. They say the longer you let it sit, the more it cleans. So I’m thinking that maybe spraying it on and letting it sit overnight might be a good idea.
Oven Cleaner
Into a spray bottle mix:
2 oz. Dawn Dishwashing liquid
4 oz. Lemon Juice
8 oz. White Vinegar
10 oz. Water
Oven cleaning is a job I put off and mine needs it. The oven hasn’t been used all summer and now with cooler days coming I’ll be turning it on. Now is the time to just do it ! Here’s hoping it will sparkle and shine !
I’m excited about being able to bake things again. My fall and winter menus will be a lot different from those I’ve had most of the summer. Instead of sandwiches and salads, there will be a lot of stews and soups.
I also came across many people making their own version of Smuckers Uncrustables. I know a lot of my grandchildren like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and many of them do not like to eat the crusts.
Using a glass. it turns out great! It’s recommended to make a template of where to put the PB and J on the bread by doing a light initial press on the bread. Remember those crusts will be useful later!
Coating both pieces of bread with peanut butter keeps the bread from getting soggy. Add a little jam on top of one of these. Place the two pieces of bread together. Using the glass push down on the bread to cut them out. Then pinch the edges to seal them. You can also wrap them in wax paper, slipping them into a ziploc bag and freeze them for later use.
As for the crusts you can make some homemade croutons by cutting the crusts into tiny pieces, throw on some garlic powder, melted butter, and seasonings and baked them for 15 min. at 350 degree oven.
I thought they were both great ideas to share and swap.
I hope you all have a great day. HAPPY Thursday!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought

Those were great ideas to swap with us, Ma! That oven cleaner sounds easy to make and I can see why it would work well too with the ingredients in it. I too am eager to start getting out my fall/winter recipes. About this time of the year I get "bored" with the summer menu and look forward to starting to use the oven again.
