Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today, the third Sunday in September, we celebrate National Women's Friendship Day. It is a great day for ladies. It's a great day to be a woman. The objective of this day, is to promote special friendship among women.
Ladies, have a happy National Women's Friendship Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living.
Amanda Bradley
Most of my friends are women and I’m very thankful for all of them. The three most important things are my life are friends, family and faith. I think that in order to have a friend you need to be a friend. It takes two to make a friendship, you don’t do it all by yourself.
Women
Women have strengths that amaze men. They
carry children, they carry hardships, they carry
burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream. They
sing when they want to cry. They cry when they
are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
Women wait by the phone for a 'safe at home
call' from a friend after a snowy drive home.
Women have special qualities about them. They
volunteer for good causes. They are pink ladies
in hospitals, they bring food to shut ins. They are
childcare workers, executives, attorneys, stay-
at-home moms, biker babes and your neighbors.
They wear suits, jeans, and they wear uniforms.
They fight for what they believe in. They stand up
for injustice. They are in the front row at PTA
meetings They vote for the person that will do
the best job for family issues. They walk and talk
the extra mile to get their children in the right
schools and for getting their family the right
healthcare. They write to the editor, their
congressmen and to the 'powers that be' for
things that make for a better life. They don't take
'no’ for an answer when they believe there is
a better solution.
They stick a love note in their husband's lunch
box. They do without new shoes so their children
can have them. They go to the doctor with a
frightened friend. They love unconditionally.
Women are honest, loyal, and forgiving. They
are smart, knowing that knowledge is power.
But they still know how to use their softer side
to make a point. Women want to be the best for
their family, their friends, and themselves.
They cry when their children excel and cheer
when their friends get awards. They are happy
when they hear about a birth or a new marriage.
Their hearts break when a friend dies. They have
sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they
are strong when they think there is no strength
left. A woman's touch can cure any ailment.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a
broken heart.
Women come in all sizes, in all colors and
shapes. They live in homes, apartments and
cabins. They drive, fly, walk, run or email you
to show how much they care about you. The
heart of a woman is what makes the world spin!
Women do more than just give birth. They bring
joy and hope. They give compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
And all they want back is a hug, a smile and for
you to do the same to people you come in contact
with. Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.

It looks like a cooler day today. Our weather is very typical of the 3rd weekend in September here, we had some rain yesterday and today the sun may come out but the summertime heat is gone. Next week it looks like we’ll be in the mid 70’s for the most part. Nice weather to welcome in Fall. Only a few days away now.
I hope you all have a RESTFUL and relaxing Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Friendship doubles our joy and divides our grief
Swedish proverb
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3145. for the women in my life that are my friends
3146. for the rain, it helped to settle the dust around here
3147. for my good health and that of my family too
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
95 Days Until Christmas
Make a list of needed supplies for homemade gifts. Remember to package each project with directions and other information in zipper food storage bag and place in a basket or box in craft/sewing area.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !

That was a good essay about Women; so true about us :) Also so true about to have a friend is to be a good friend. We also can't take our friendships for granted but must nurture them :)

I love this essay ... and so timely!
A couple days ago I made plans with my best friend in Florida to chat, then - for no particular reason - today finds me feeling like I don't want to talk on the phone to anyone.
You're absolutely right. If I want to have a friend, I need to act like one!
PS - Please forgive my 'grammar stumble' on your other blog. Seriously, I know the difference between 'to' and 'too' but sometimes my fingers get ahead of my brain!
Love your thought for the day Pam! Women need women. I forget who said that, but it's true. Men seem quite happy on their own, but we women need the company of other women. I am so grateful for all my friends. I can't believe how quickly Christmas is creeping up on us! Have a beautiful Monday and a fabulous week! xoxo
Happy National Women's Friendship Day!! I'm glad to call you friend for quite a few years now... :)
