Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Be Late For Something Day, which is celebrated today, September 5th, is a great day to be a procrastinator. If you are among the millions of us who never seem to be able to stay on schedule, then you will certainly enjoy today.
Being late for something is a common occurrence. It's caused by a whole host of reasons. Some are intentional, some are not. Today, just take a moment to stop and smell the roses, slow down for a little bit, enjoy the scenery, take a few minutes longer for lunch, visit with a friend, or play with your children and just be late for something because of it!! It will be okay!
CAUTION: Celebrating this holiday could cause frustration for some people.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by.
Being late for something is not really a bad thing. I’ve heard of lots of people that had a near miss because they were a few minutes late. People that didn’t get hit by a car because they were running behind or people that avoided an unpleasant moment because they were late.
My motto is : Better late than never. .
The only really bad thing about being late is the all the rushing you've got to do to be on time. I found a Procrastinators Creed on line so I thought that just for fun I’d share it with you all today:
Procrastinator’s Creed
I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.
I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.
I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.
I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect to receive from missing them.
I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.
I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.
I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesimally small, is not exactly zero.
If at first I don’t succeed, there is always next year.
I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.
I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and or write the first word, when I get around to it.
I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.
I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but is wait/plan/plan.
I will never put off until tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.
I will become a member of the ancient Order of Two Headed Turtles, the Procrastinator’s Society, if they ever get it organized.
We finally got some much needed rain here yesterday and we may get more today. But that doesn’t mean it’s cooled down much at all. Stay cool everyone !
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Better three hours too soon than a minute too late.
William Shakespeare
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3100. for life in the slow lane, it gives me plenty of time to stop and smell the roses
3101. for the possibility of rain today, we need it
3102. for miracles, they are all around us
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
On the keyboard of life, always keep one finger on the escape key.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Oh, how funny! I think my son wrote that creed!
Do you know I used to have quite a bit of trouble getting places on time but for years I have set my clocks ten minutes ahead. Sound crazy but it works for me that is all that matters! Keep your finger on that ESCAPE key and have a great weekend! xx
That was cute with the Procrastinators Creed. Glad you guys got some rain! I have a real hard time being late, don't like to do so and try to avoid it at all cost. Really also have a hard time with people who are consistently late for church, unless of course they are parents with young children.
betty
This is precious! Not sure why, but I've a terminal fear of being tardy -- even when it doesn't count! I had to smile, remembering a cruise vacation I took with a gal pal ... an habitually-late gal-pal, that is. Before the week was out, I truly feared for our friendship!
