Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Skyscraper Day is held annually on September 3rd. Celebrate this unofficial holiday by climbing up a skyscraper or by acknowledging the architectural and engineering feats that make such buildings possible.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
We all live under the same sky, but we don't all have the same horizon.
Konrad Adenauer
Although I do enjoy living where I do on a street here in town where everything is pretty much close and handy, I do miss being in the country where you can see much more on the horizon. I cannot imagine living where skyscrapers would mare my view, but many do.
I see the sun rise and set here each day over the tree tops in my neighborhood. Those leaves on the trees will soon be changing. I’ve already seen some color changes and also some fallen leaves along the streets here and before we know it the trees will be bare and there will be lots of leaves to rake too.
So for now I’m thankful for their beauty and that my view from the porch includes their glorious array.
I hope you all have a GREAT day ! Happy Thursday
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful; for beauty is God’s handwriting — a wayside sacrament. Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower, and thank God for it as a cup of blessing.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3094. for fabulous sun rises and sunsets
3095. for a new horizon every day
3096. for trees and their beauty
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
Christopher McCandless
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

The Emerson quote was wonderful! Thank you, MA!
We don't have any skyscrapers where we live now, but when we drive to Phoenix they have quite a few, of course not quite as many as San Diego. I think one of the best memories of a skyscraper was having a meal at a restaurant on the 20th floor of a building and looking out and seeing a plane flying really close by on its way to land at the airport :)

I love to look at skyscrapers but I wouldn't want to live in one. I love trees too much!
Have a happy day.
