Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
National Cheeseburger Day is today. Top off America's favorite sandwich, with a piece of cheese. Celebrate National Cheeseburger Day by firing up the grill, and cooking cheeseburgers. You can do so for lunch or dinner or both! Any kind of cheese will do. Try a different cheese, if your adventuresome. For the carb conscious, eat your burgers without the buns.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Square meals often make round people.
E. Joseph Cossman
Not much beats a well made cheeseburger with perfectly cooked ground beef topped with gooey, melted cheese. Here are a few tips I found on line to help you make the perfect cheeseburger.
Think outside the individually wrapped processed squares! Experiment with other cheeses that melt well, like fontina, mozzarella, or gruyere. Crumbly cheeses like feta and gorgonzola are also excellent
Make sure your burger’s cooked through to your liking before adding the cheese. If you add it too early, the cheese will melt away and burn.
Give the cheese time to melt before serving your burgers. For crumbly cheeses, sprinkle them over your burger as soon as you take them off the heat
Chill your patties before cooking them. A short stint in the fridge, for about 20 minutes, will help them hold their shape when cooked.
Flip your burgers only once and never press them down with a spatula or you’ll send all of burger’s flavorful juices right into the fire.
And what better way to kick off National Cheeseburger Day than making a breakfast favorite too! A cheeseburger frittata is a great meal option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It’s quick like an omelet, and much lighter than its cousin the quiche. And like an omelet or quiche, the frittata flavor combinations are endless.
1 pound Ground Beef
¼ teaspoons Plus Two Dashes Of Salt, Divided
¼ teaspoons Plus Two Dashes Of Pepper, Divided
¼ teaspoons Plus Two Dashes Of Garlic Powder, Divided
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 whole Medium Onion, Chopped
10 whole Large Eggs
3 Tablespoons Milk
4 ounces Cheddar Cheese, Shredded, Divided
Optional Additions: Bacon, Sautéed Mushroom, Sliced/diced Tomatoes
I used a 10″ pie pan for this recipe, but a 9″ deep dish should work as well. Grease it with some butter or spray it with cooking spray.
Brown the beef in a skillet over medium heat with a dash of salt, pepper and garlic powder.
In another skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onion with a dash of salt and pepper. Saute until onions are translucent.
Beat together eggs, milk, 1/2 of the shredded cheddar cheese and 1/4 teaspoon of salt pepper and garlic powder.
Evenly distribute the browned hamburger on the bottom of the pie pan then top it with the sautéed onions.
Pour the egg mixture over the top of the hamburger and onion. Top that with the remaining cheese.
Bake at 400 F for 15-20 minutes until set, testing with a knife, it’s done when it comes out clean. Serves 8
I found my cast iron skillet works well too.
Being the lazy person I am, I always try to keep something quick and easy to eat in the freezer and today might just be the day I pull out the box of White Castle, the original sliders, frozen Cheeseburgers!
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

3140. for the freezer, which thankfully is still working
3141. for the end of another work week, tomorrow is Saturday, Thank goodness it’s Friday !
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
97 Days Until Christmas
It’s time to clean, organize and declutter the home office or planning area, and begin the basics of holiday planning: our values, our budget and our gift list. Whether it's a dedicated home office or a rolling file cart under the dining table, it's time to declutter, organize and clean the planning area.

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !

That cheeseburger frittata looks delicious! I'm printing it out as we speak and plan to make it this weekend! We had cheeseburgers the other day and had some blue cheese left from a recipe; we sprinkled some on the burgers, yum!!!
betty
What Betty said! (LOL)
I first spotted this before I was fully daylight; before I'd finished my first cup of coffee ... and my mouth literally began to water. Why, I don't know much fare that can beat a good cheeseburger!
PS - I knew someone who once said the secret to his burgers was inserting a pat (or 2) of butter inside each burger before slapping them on the grill.
I have neglected you lately, MA, I'm sorry! We have to pass on the cheeseburgers here now, with Keith's diet restrictions.
Hubby makes a moist hamburger with Ritz crackers.... Happy Cheeseburger Day! :)
