TODAY'S THOUGHT
Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving.
W.T. Purkiser
TODAY’S ACTION
Do your work with faithfulness and a grateful heart
TODAY’S QUOTE
It is not enough for a man to know how to ride –
he must know how to fall.
Mexican Proverb
HAPPY WEDNESDAY !!
It is hard to believe it is Wednesday. The days since last Saturday have been a blur. I feel like time has stood still. Today will be a little easier for me anyway as DS#3 has requested that we stay home and not visit with them til evening anyway so that they can re-coop a little.
Having so many people around has helped them I’m sure and I think it is a good sign that they are ready to have some time without us there. One of DDIL#3’s sisters will arrive there today from out of state and I know her family will want some time to themselves without all our gang there too.
The snow blasted our area relentlessly on Tuesday and at DS#3’s the roads were really bad. They live out in what we call the snow belt and got a lot more than we did. The weather man says by Thursday we’ll see much better weather. We may all just wait until Thanksgiving Day to get together again. We’ll see…
Here at home today I need to do a little grocery shopping and get some laundry done. I also need to make some phone calls to people that I’ve not been able to do yet as things have been so terribly hectic. If we go to DS#3’s it won’t be until later in the day.
All this snow makes it seem like it’s Christmas time and not Thanksgiving.
Take good care all and keep warm!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S SMILE
A small boy once approached his slightly older sister with a question about God. "Susie, can anybody ever really see God?" he asked.Busy with other things, Susie curtly replied: "No, of course not silly. God is so far up in heaven that nobody can see him."
Time passed, but his question still lingered so he approached his mom: "Mom, can anybody ever really see God?" "No, not really," she gently said. "God is a spirit and he dwells in our hearts, but we can never really see Him." Somewhat satisfied but still wondering, the youngster went on his way.
Not long afterwards, his saintly old grandfather took the little boy on a fishing trip. They were having a great time together - it had been an ideal day. The sun was beginning to set with unusual splendor as the day ended. The old man stopped fishing and turned his full attention to the exquisite beauty unfolding before him.
On seeing the face of his grandfather reflecting such deep peace and contentment as he gazed into the magnificent ever-changing sunset, the little boy thought for a moment and finally spoke hesitatingly: "Granddad, I - I - wasn't going to ask anybody else, but I wonder if you can tell me the answer to something I've been wondering about a long time - can anybody - can anybody ever really see God?".
The old man did not even turn his head. A long moment slipped by before he finally answered. "Son," he quietly said. "It's getting so I can't see anything else."

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Nevertheless I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand.
Psalm 73:23
One of the joys of being with kids is holding their hands. We do it to keep them safe while crossing the street, or to keep them from getting lost in a crowd. And whenever they stumble and lose their footing, we grab their little hands tighter to keep them from falling
That’s what God does for us. Inevitably there are stones and cracks that trip us up on the sidewalks of life. That’s why it’s easy to identify with the psalmist, who said, “My steps had nearly slipped” (Ps. 73:2).
We all face a variety of issues that threaten to make us stumble. For the psalmist Asaph, seeing the prosperity of the wicked caused him to question the goodness of God. But God squeezed his hand and reassured him that, given the judgment of God, the wicked do not really prosper. True prosperity, the psalmist discovered, was found in the fact that God was always with him:
Let God do the holding and you do the trusting
