TODAY'S THOUGHT
Let the thankful heart sweep through the day and, as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings!
Henry Ward Beecher
TODAY’S ACTION
Assemble your thoughts with a thankful heart
and present them to the world
TODAY’S QUOTE
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
Plato (c. 427-347 B.C.)
IT’S THURSDAY !!
A VERY BLESSED THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU
I read the following in one of my online mediations and I thought it appropriate to share for my thoughts today.
If you could give a person only one thing to help them,
What would it be?
I thought carefully about his question; then I replied, "It's not one thing. It's two: gratitude and letting go." Gratitude for everything, not just the things we consider good or a blessing. And letting go of everything we can't change
We do need to be thankful for everything and to let go of what cannot be changed.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
Acceptance of what has happened is the first step
to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune
William James
TODAY’S PRAYERS
God grant me the serenity to accept
the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships
as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God,
and in God’s time all things will be made well.
TODAY IS…THANKSGIVING DAY
Today is Thanksgiving Day in the U.S., by presidential proclamation. Thanksgiving was observed throughout New England as a religious holiday even before the American Revolution. Then it spread to the middle states and the West, and finally to the South after the Civil War
The first Thanksgiving Day in America was actually the first holiday ever in the U.S. - on November 26, 1789.
It seems both Houses of Congress had requested that President George Washington proclaim a “...day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity to peaceably establish a form of government for their safety and happiness
Today, we celebrate Thanksgiving Day on the fourth Thursday of November. This was set by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1939 (approved by Congress in 1941), who changed it from Abe Lincoln’s designation as the last Thursday in November (which could occasionally end up being the fifth Thursday and hence too close to Christmas for businesses

TODAY’S SMILE
The Twelve Days of Thanksgiving
On the First Day.....We give thanks for the fresh turkey feast and its hot trimmings.
On the Second Day.....We bless the cold turkey sandwiches, slushy cranberry sauce, and hard rolls.
On the Third Day.....We praise the turkey pie and vintage mixed veggies.
On the Fourth Day.....We thank the pilgrims for not serving bison that first time, or we'd be celebrating Thanksgiving until April.
On the Fifth Day.....We gobble up cubed bird casserole and pray for a glimpse of a naked turkey carcass.
On the Sixth Day.....We show gratitude (sort of) to the creative cook who slings cashews at the turkey and calls it Oriental.
On the Seventh Day.....We forgive our forefathers and pass the turkey-nugget pizza.
On the Eighth Day.....The word ''vegetarian'' keeps popping into our heads.
On the Ninth Day.....We check our hair to make sure we're not beginning to sprout feathers.
On the Tenth Day.....We hope that the wing meat kabobs catch fire under the broiler.
On the Eleventh Day.....We smile over the creamed gizzard because the thigh bones are in sight.
On the Twelfth Day.....We apologize for running out of turkey leftovers....
and everybody says Amen!!!

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Then the angel said to me, “Write this:Blessed are those who have been calledto the wedding feast of the Lamb
Revelation 19:9
Today’s readings speak of great destruction and pain on earth before Jesus returns—something we are already very much familiar with in our times. Are we prepared to greet him whenever he appears, and partake in the wedding feast?
We may sometimes wonder whether we are worthy of an invitation to such a wonderful celebration. What must we do to ensure there is a place for us there with the Lamb of God? The angel later tells John in the book of the Revelation that we are to hold to the truth that Jesus revealed, and to worship God.
While we await Jesus’ reappearance, we can invoke him in many great or small ways. ‘Maranatha’ means ‘Come, Lord’ in the Aramaic language of Jesus’ time. Repeating this simple prayer we gradually discern the close and gentle presence of the Lord in our lives. Jesus, we need you and want you to come to us. Enter our souls until we see you in person with all your power and glory.
