ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
NOVEMBER 16TH, 2008
TODAY'S THOUGHT
Prayer is not asking for what you think you want,
but asking to be changed in ways you can't imagine.
Kathleen Norris
TODAY’S ACTION
Pray for someone that you don't know
TODAY’S QUOTE
Tension is who you think you should be.
Relaxation is who you are.
Chinese Proverb
HAPPY SUNDAY !!
A cold front has hit Ohio and our temps will be near freezing and below most of the week. We had few snow showers last night and there will be more today they say.
DS#6 spent the afternoon with me on Saturday and taught me more about using my iPod. I’ve had an iTunes gift certificate sitting here for a long time and finally got to use it. I also took some of my cd’s and put the music from them to the iPod so now I’ll have my favorite music wherever I go.
I’ll be off to church this morning as usual and then home again.
Quiet day here.
On the calendar this week is my monthly get together with my dulcimer buddies on Tuesday evening and Bible Study on Thursday evening. We are practicing our Christmas music now. I love the sounds of Christmas and would play them all year round if I could.
Isn’t time flying by?
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God,
and in God’s time all things will be made well.
TODAY IS…
International Day for Tolerance
and Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Victims
The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is held on the third Sunday of November each year, which is on November 16 in 2008. It is a day to remember those who died or were injured from road crashes and the plight of their loved ones who must cope with the consequences of their deaths or injuries. Organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), which is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system, play a major role to promote the day.

TODAY’S REFLECTION
This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
But when I read the Bible verse above, I remember that every day is a gift from God. I can look for the blessings and beauty in each day, each season. Nothing is prettier than a soft snowfall or a brilliant red cardinal. If the day is cloudy and cold, I can appreciate a warm home and a cup of hot chocolate. Family and friends can bring joy and laughter regardless of the weather. And, in a few weeks, the days will grow longer; the weather will start to warm up; those bare trees will begin to bud; and the earth will be renewed once again.
So, instead of complaining about winter, I plan to make a conscious effort to see the beauty and blessing of each day, in every season.
