HAPPY THURSDAY !!
One week from today it’ll be Thanksgiving !
It hardly seems possible that it is getting so close now.
We are supposed to have some more snow on the way today. Yesterday it flurried a bit but nothing accumulated. I think I’m beginning to sound like a broken record here, so I best stop talking about the weather.
I went to the funeral home visitation for my uncle (on my Dad’s side of the family) last evening. I saw a few of my cousins and one of my other aunt and uncles were there but most of the other people I didn’t know. We all agreed we should stop meeting that way and try to get together at a happier time. We always say that but somehow never do.
Days go by so quickly. I go to work and come home and do a little, go to bed , get up and go to work again…life goes on and before we know it we miss out on seeing each again.
I did make an appointment with my family for one week from today and I won’t be missing that one and it will be a happy time for sure.
Take good care all – keep warm!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
1 Timothy 6:17
Our search for joy takes us many different directions—dream holidays, shopping, food, clothes, friends, cars—the list is almost endless.
My guess is that if you perked up at the mention of shopping, holidays, or cars, you might have felt a twinge of guilt. We often view the joy of temporal things as less than spiritual and show our discomfort by apologizing for nice things: “I wouldn’t have bought this, but someone gave me a wonderful deal.” As if real Christians never eat quiche, drive cool cars, or wear designer clothes
No doubt God’s greatest gift to us is our relationship with His Son Jesus
But Scripture also casts the joy of the Lord in terms of temporal things. The enjoyment of “things” can be a positive spiritual experience. When we recognize that He “gives us richly all things to enjoy” (1 Tim. 6:17) and that “every good gift . . . is from above” (James 1:17), our hearts should be full of thankfulness and praise. This, in and of itself, is an act of worship! Enjoy the Giver and the gifts
