I don’t know if you noticed or not but I put the days remaining until Camping Season begins in the list after How Many Days Til Winter….I based this on April 18th, but I’m not really sure exactly what day will be the first. It will be around that date so my count down is an approximate number.
I’m so glad that Wednesday has come. Even though the days have been lovely, at work they have dragged by. I look out the window and wish I was outside not in an office. Of course the weekend will bring wet days and much cooler temps.
And more time spent indoors.

On November 5, people in England celebrate a holiday called Guy Fawkes Day. Nearly 400 years ago, Guy Fawkes and other conspirators tried to blow up a British Parliament Building in 1605. After being apprehended they were convicted and beheaded in 1606. November 5th is now celebrated as the anniversary of the plot. Ever since, Guy Fawkes Day has been a time for merrymaking. The best part comes as darkness falls. Then, straw dummies are tossed into huge bonfires. Amid cries of glee, firecrackers pop and "the Guy" goes up in a blaze of fire

TODAY’S SMILE
It was a crisp, spring day full of life and energy. My four dogs seemed to feel it as well. Each one of them was delightfully sniffing the air and bouncing around me as we walked. Then as I was about to head back toward the house with them our Saint Bernard, Buddy, and our tiny Labrador mix, Pepper, both decided that it was the perfect time for a game of chase! Before I knew it my legs were wrapped up tight with the dog leashes from these two running in circles around me.
Thankfully, I was able to drop the leashes before I ended up on the ground. As I bent down to pick up the leashes again, however, my tiniest dog, Julie decided to give me a little help. She grabbed Buddy’s leash in her mouth and headed for the door. I looked on with laughter as my 10 pound Pekinese Poodle walked our 160 pound Saint Bernard back home.In addition to giving me a good laugh this sight also got me to thinking.
If a little dog like that can take the leash of a giant sized one and lead him in the right direction then there is no reason why all of us can’t take the leash on our own lives and start walking them on the path of love and joy again. Sure we may have huge problems, large struggles, and massive difficulties in our lives, but if we let that smart, little dog that is our soul take the lead they will all fall behind us. That smart, little dog will lead our hearts, minds, and lives right where they need to go. That smart, little dog will lead us back home to joy, love, and God.
Let your soul lead you in the right direction, then all of your life will follow you happily. Let your soul walk you down the path of love, joy, and oneness with God and your journey home will always be a delightful one even if you do get tangled in the leash from time to time.

Among the first words many of us were taught to say are please and thank you. No one gets quite as excited as a parent or grandparent when a toddler first utters those words and makes the connection between asking politely and receiving gratefully.
But I suspect that as we grow older we become more adept at saying please than thank you, especially with our heavenly Father. We focus more on pressing needs than on previous provisions; we petition more than we praise. And while God invites us to come to Him with all our needs, He also urges us to make gratitude a habit.
In Colossians 3:15, Paul instructed every follower of Jesus Christ to “let the peace of God rule in your hearts.” Then three times he reminded us to remain grateful to God: “be thankful” (v.15); sing with gratitude to the Lord (v.16); “do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (v.17).
Gratitude should be a continuous attitude, not just an occasional incident
