TODAY’S ACTION

TODAY’S QUOTE
Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. Nor undermine another's worth by comparison with any other. . . It is because we are different that each of us is special
HAPPY MONDAY !!
I wish I could say it was a happy day. I’ll be going into work this morning because it is necessary that the payroll be done. I will be asking my boss for the rest of the week off. I would have been off on Thursday and Friday anyway. I don’t know yet what any of the plans are for the funeral of my little grandson, but will let you know as I find out.
After church on Sunday, my DD, her hubby DSIL, and DS#5 and his wife and I went back to DS#3’s house. We took some food and just went to be some support for them. The week ahead is going to be so very hard.
Please pray for my son and his wife and the family as we grieve the loss of my youngest grandson.
I’ll probably be sending my newsletter as usual as it gives me something to do, the ordinary things in life help to keep us going sometimes.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY’S SMILE
Thanksgiving Day was near. The first grade teacher gave her class a fun assignment -- to draw a picture of something for which they were thankful. Most of the class might be considered economically disadvantaged, but still many would celebrate the holiday with turkey and other traditional goodies of the season. These, the teacher thought, would be the subjects of most of her student's art.
And they were. But Douglas made a different kind of picture. Douglas was a different kind of boy. He was the teacher's true child of misery, frail and unhappy. As other children played at recess, Douglas was likely to stand close by her side. One could only guess at the pain Douglas felt behind those sad eyes.Yes, his picture was different. When asked to draw a picture of something for which he was thankful, he drew a hand. Nothing else. Just an empty hand.
His abstract image captured the imagination of his peers. Whose hand could it be? One child guessed it was the hand of a farmer, because farmers raise turkeys. Another suggested a police officer, because the police protect and care for people. Still others guessed it was the hand of God, for God feeds us. And so the discussion went -- until the teacher almost forgot the young artist himself.
When the children had gone on to other assignments, she paused at Douglas' desk, bent down, and asked him whose hand it was.The little boy looked away and murmured, "It's yours, teacher."She recalled the times she had taken his hand and walked with him here or there, as she had the other students. How often had she said, "Take my hand, Douglas, we'll go outside." Or, "Let me show you how to hold your pencil." Or, "Let's do this together."
Douglas was most thankful for his teacher's hand. Brushing aside a tear, she went on with her work. The story speaks of more than thankfulness. It says something about teachers teaching and parents parenting and friends showing friendship, and how much it means to the Douglases of the world. They might not always say thanks. But they'll remember the hand that reaches out.

What is the real good?"I asked in musing mood.

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Then the virtuous will say to him in reply, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you; or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and make you welcome; naked and clothe you; sick or in prison and go to see you?" And the King will answer, "I tell you solemnly, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it to me.
Mt 25:40-41
Change is a fact of life. The rate of change continues to accelerate. Change brings new opportunities for those who seize them and new burdens for those who find it difficult to adapt. Change is unsettling for everyone. In the midst of change, wise and innovative leaders are a blessing to be sought after and encouraged.
Genuine leaders bind people together into respect filled communities, where truth is a foundation stone, limitation is accepted, generosity nurtured, love thrives and where uniqueness is more important than usefulness.More than anything else, the young need to experience such communities and such leaders at home, at school and at play.
Christ the King is the role model for such leadership. He experienced rejection but he built a faith community. Nobody can do more
