ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SUNDAY,JANUARY 2ND, 2022
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Run it up the Flagpole and See if anyone Salutes Day which a fun holiday that goes back to a vintage English idiom. It is a good bet someone who has made up an idea and does not know yet if it is a good one. Running it up the flagpole would be a a good way to let the public know about it. A modern variation of this catch phrase would be, Send up a trial ballon.
If anyone salutes, meaning appeals to your idea then it maybe is a good one indeed. The unknown inventor of this day motivates ambitious people to test their fancies so that they can get started with it, now that the new year has just begun. Anyway this expression is a bit outdated and therefore rather funny. than serious.
To celebrate this day, let us know what new idea you might have and we’ll let you know what we think of it. It might just be a good one !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have have idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.
George Bernard Shaw
I don’t happen to have any new ideas to share today but I’m open to learning something new. Every day I like to learn something new, and it doesn’t matter how old I get, I keep on learning. As long as were are learning we are still growing . Expanding our minds, that is. I don’t ever think we can know too much.
Some one always has a new idea to share. I love to look at the Pinterest website, I get some new ideas from there, and I love to read, which always makes me think in a new way about things.
Today we are much colder than we were and it’s hard to take in the fact we’ll have snow falling here again. It’s been such a mild winter so far, that I fear we’re going to pay for it now.
So I’m staying in today and streaming church services on line. It’s not what I prefer to do, but it will be safer and warmer watching it on line. I don’t like to say it, but these days I feel safer at home than anywhere. I don’t go many places at all.
Keep warm and keep safe everyone !
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9856. for others ideas, they give me new ideas of my own
9857. for those that are bright enough to have new ideas on their own.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

A good idea is always worth sharing.
77 days to spring! I love how you count down the days to things!
We watched services online this morning, too. It was 20 degrees and the kitchen sink water was frozen up. Louis Dean put a heater outside by the kitchen wall and it wasn’t long before the water was running again. We go to the ranch tomorrow so I’ll be spending the day cleaning and packing. I like to come home to a clean house .....but it will still be a Christmas House and that’s okay with me!
No new idea to share but in my morning reading I read a quote by George Berbard Sjhaw......your quote by him made me remember mine....
Fragrance.....
‘Happiness is a perfum you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.’
So very true!
Happy New Year!
I don't have any new ideas either -- but sure appreciate you telling me about your DIL's 1-beater mixer trick! Yes, Pinterest is a great resource; I need to go there more often. I know what you mean about staying home. Safe. My BF and I were saying that very thing on our monthly call yesterday. There's no guarantees, but why take unnecessary risks?
