ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SATURDAY,JANUARY 8TH, 2022
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is National Joygerm Day which is an annual reminder to people across the country that by being positive and treating people with kindness, they can influence those around them that pass that positive attitude on to others. When we share good moods, we impact the lives of people around us and those people become infected with that same positive joy and spread it to others.
To celebrate today, laugh, smile be kind, inspire and spread one type of germ that is good for everyone to catch !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Smiling is infections,
you catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin,
When he smiled I realized
I’d passed it on to him
I thought about that smile,
then I realize its worth.
A single smile, just like mine
could travel around the earth.
So if you feel a smile begin,
don’t leave it undetected.
Let’s start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!

Thankfully I have lots of joy filled people around me, especially my grandchildren. They are so happy and it is truly contagious. When I see their smiling faces I always feel better.
It doesn’t matter if it’s in person or in a picture, they make me very happy. Today’s pictures show just a few of them.
Hopefully they will make you smile too.
It’s Saturday and my day to cook for the weekend and on the menu today is:
Turkey Marsala
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 20 oz. pkg. turkey brest tenderloins
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 Tbsp. butter
1/2 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup Marsala wine
1 tsp. lemon juice
Mix flour, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper. Cut each tenderloin crosswise in half. pound each piece with a meat mallet to 3/4 inch thickness. Toss with flour mixture.
In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add turned, cook until a thermometer reads 165 degrees. Remove from pan; keep warm
In same skillet, heat butter over medium high heat, saute mushrooms until tender. Stir in broth and wine. Bring to a boil, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan; cook until liquid is reduced by half. Stir in lemon juice and remaining salt and pepper. Serve with turkey.
You could also use thin boneless chicken breasts instead of turkey if desired. I had turkey on hand so that is what I’m using. You can purchase Marsala for cooking at the grocery store. I don’t usually have wine on hand, but picked these up to use for this dish.
I’m going to have this with some mashed sweet potatoes and green beans today and tomorrow.
We’re starting out at 15 degrees here this morning but they say we’ll warm up to the mid 30’s today and possibly 40’s tomorrow with rain coming our way. Then we’ll be going back down to below freezing.
Keep warm and safe everyone !
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
All who joy would win must share it. Happiness was born a Twin.

The joy you share will make others joyful too!
The photos of your beautiful family always make me smile! Your dinner sounds delicious. Wish I lived closer, I think I'd have to invite myself over. Stay bundled up and warm Ma!
Joygerm day sounds delightful! Your grand-girl in the Mickey Mouse hat looks like she should be on the cover of Seventeen magazine!
It is so true that a smile can change the world. I do it a lot to people I meet at the grocery or where ever and it is the same with saying good morning when out and about.
