ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SUNDAY,JANUARY 16TH, 2022
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Fig Newton Day which celebrates a popular snack food which was created by the Kennedy Biscuit Works located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They were known for naming many of their cookies after neighboring towns. They rank the 3rd most popular cookie in the United States.
Popular myth has it that Nabisco’s chewy cookies were named after Sir Issace Newton. In reality, they were named after their birth place of Newton, Massachusetts. These cookies are made in over 5 varieties from original fig, in eluding stawberry, apple & cinnamon, sweet peach & apricot and triple berry.
To celebrate this holiday, open up a fresh pack of them to enjoy as a snack, or as a dessert to end your meal.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
I eat a lot. I eat three times a day and I snack.
Suzanne Somers
There are some fig newtons in my cupboard here so I will be able to celebrate this holiday. I do like then as a snack.
I’ve never had the other varieties, only the fig ones., but they do sound good .
Everyone here is preparing for a winter storm… It’s supposed to move in tonight. The weather channel said we may get 6 to eight inches of snow. That is way more than I can handle, so I’m hoping we don’t get that much. We can only wait until tomorrow to see how much is on the ground. Thankfully we’ll have a day to get the snow cleared, as I have to go out Tuesday for a doctor’s appointment. I’m supposed to be seeing my Kidney specialist on Tuesday afternoon.
Mean while here at my house I’m staying in and keeping warm today. Thankfully there is no need to go out. I’ll be steaming church services on line today and take some time just to relax. It’s the calm before the storm and I may just have to take a long winters nap. It’s warm and cozy here so I’m snuggling in.
Having snow this time of year is not unusual. Today’s pictures are from previous years on this date.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
If we are not supposed to have midnight snacks, why is there a light in the fridge?

If it weren't for snacks, I'd probably be skinny, but I love to snack and am pleasingly plump instead!
I hadn't thought of Fig Newtons in ages. It was always a treat when I'd discover my mother had put 1-2 in my lunch sack!
3 meals and a snack? Suzanne Sommers, You are decesptive!
