ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SUNDAY,NOVEMBER 7TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is the End of Daylight Savings Time which means the clocks will fall back an hour to standard time, meaning brighter mornings but darker evenings for most Americans. The rest of Mexica and the most of Europe will end DST one week earlier. Most of North America shifts at 2:00 am local time.
Daylight saving time, also summer time in several countries, is the practice of advancing clocks so that evenings have more daylight and mornings have less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in autumn. The modern idea of daylight saving was first implemented during the First World War. Many countries have used it at various times since then.
The practice has been both praised and criticized. Adding daylight to the evenings benefits retailing, sports and activities that exploit sunlight after working hours, but can cause problems for evening entertainment and other occasions tied to the sun.
Although the early goal of DST was to reduce evening usage of incandescent lighting. formerly a primary source of the use of electricity, modern heating and cooling usage patterns differs greatly. and research about how DST currently effects energy use is limited or condradictory.
DST clock shifts present other challengewsw. They complicate time keeping and disrupt meetings, travel, billing, record keeping, medical devices, heavy equipment, and sleep patterns. Software can often adjust clocks automatically, but this can be limited and error prone, particularly when DST protocols are changed.
I hope you remember to set your clocks back one hour today !
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Even stopped clocks are right twice a day.
Paulo Coelho
I think it would be a good idea to do away with changing the clocks twice a year. It always interupts my sleep pattern and I hate it getting dark out so early. My computer and my phone automatically change the time, but all the rest of my clocks have to be changed by hand and that is aggravating. My car clock never seems to get changed and I have to remember it is off. I haven ’t figured out yet how to change it. Right now it’s reading 2 hours ahead of time so it’s been awhile since it was changed last.
I have this old clock on the buffet here in my living room and it’s not easy to set it, especially when it has to go backward. It’s really better if I just wait to start it when the time comes around to what it presently says and then wind it up again so it will be the right time. It dongs on every hour and lets me knoat time it is even when I’m in bed every night. It’s a lot easier to move forward in the spring than it is go back one hour in the fall.
I went to bed early last night in anticipation of the time change. So waking up earlier today was no problem for me. Still I think I’ll just stay home today and watch the church services on line. I have no excuse but I’m lazy. I do remember a time when we got there on hour before we needed to be. At least we were not late. In my opinion it’s always better to be early than late. All we had to was sit in the car and wait while.
It’s supposed to be a beautiful day out and the rest of the week looks pretty good too. Not as cold as last week was.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present.
Alice Morse Earle
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I hope you turned your clock back one hour, so you're not running ahead today.
Love that quote about all clocks being right twice a day. (Or once each 6 months, lol)
Seems we've certainly out-lived the need for Daylight Savings time -- but I'm not holding my breath we'll see it abolished in my lifetime.
