ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 26TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is Black Friday which is the official kickoff to the holiday shopping season. If you want to avoid the crowds, begin your holiday shopping from your couch . We’re encouraged shop
The name black Friday comes from the accounting terms, in the red and in the black. Retailers hail the day after Thanksgiving as the turning point in the year, when they transition form the red to the black, making a profit.
On this day many retailers traditionally open their stores early to accommodate all of the people that camp out in the parking lot for the night before to take advantage of the holiday sales.
Although Black Friday is the biggest day for shopping traffic, it is not always the day with the most sales. That distinction typically belongs to the last Sturdy before Christmas. 66 percent of shoppers say they shop for themselves on Black Friday.
To celebrate today, join the crowds and go shopping.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I like eating, cooking and shopping. It all goes together.
Kyle MacLaulian
I won’t be be going shopping today, but staying at home trying to figure out what to give for Christmas instead. Maybe even start on my Christmas cards. DD and I did our annual shopping trip on Wednesday when we had much better weather. We’re to be in the 30’s, then we were close to 50 but it was still very windy and cold.
We were disappointed in what we saw. They really didn’t have anything new or exciting. Usually I get some inspiration for my decorating or gifts to make. They didn’t seem to have as much variety as they used to. I suppose that is a sign of the times.Seems everyone is experiencing shortages.
Fridays are also my day to cook up sonething new and on the menu for dinner today is:
Veggie Pizza with Herbed Tomato Crust
Makes 6 servings
Crust:
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2 tsp dried parsley flakes
1/2 tsp dried rosemary, crushed
1 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup tomato juice
1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp oil
Toppings:
1 can, 8 oz., pizza sauce
1 green pepper, chopped
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Crushed red pepper flakes, optional
In a bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients. In a small pan heat the water tomato juice and oil. Add to dry ingredients, beat until smooth. Stir in enough flour to form a soft dough.
Turn onto a slightly floured surface, knead until smooth and elastic. Place in a bowl coated with cooking spray, turning ssonce to coat top. Cover and let rise about 45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Punch dough down, roll into a circle. Transfer to a pizza pan coated with cooking spray, build up on edges slightly.
Spread with pizza sauce. Top with green pepper, mushrooms, onion, tomato and cheese . Bake 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and edge is lightly browned. If desired, sprinkle with pepper flakes.
.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9741. for sales to check out
9742 for a day to stay inside and keep warm
9743. for the oven on a cold day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

No matter what kind of shopping you do, today is the best day for bargains and sales.
I'm sorry your shopping expedition wasn't what you hoped ... but I'm sure the company made up for it. Long before Black Friday 'mania' was a thing, my mother and I'd go to the mall. I don't recall any bargains, but we always enjoyed lunching at a little German shop that also sold wonderful pastrami sandwiches at the back.
It was interesting to find out about black Friday and why they call it that, thanks for posting it.
