ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18TH, 2020

The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is National Chocolate Cupcake Day which celebrates a delightful treat served at gourmet bakeries and kitchen tables across the country.
Cupcakes first emerged during the 19th century in the United States. There are two theories about how they got their name. One claimed that the minuture cakes were originally baked in cups. The other suggests that the name comes from the recipe, which was measured our by the cup — one cup of butter, two cups of sugar, three cups of flour, four eggs, one cup milk, one spoonful baking soda.
Cupcakes are now made with a variety of flavors, ingredients and decorations, but the simple chocolate cupcakes remains a perennial favorite. Bake, frost and decorate a batch today to celebrate !
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
When you look at a cupcake, you’ve got to smile.
Anne Byrn
The pictures today came from a visit to see DS#2 and his family . We visited a bakery there and bought the best cupcakes I ever had. The were propably the most expensive ones I ever bought too, but we sure did enjoy them.
As I’ve said before I’m trying to stay away from desserts so for today, I’ll just stick with my leftover roast beef dinner. It turned out to be very good and I’ll have leftovers for awhile now to enjoy.
Our nights have been very cold and we had frost Saturday morning, but today should be a bit warmer. It’s only going down to 45 degrees and tonight and there is a chance of rain. The cloud cover will keep the frost away.
I’m off to church later on this morning and I’ll be taking my walker to lean on. I sure do miss the pews we have in the church, but right now we are sitting on folding chairs in the church hall. The say it has better air ventilation and can seat more people at a safe distance.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8564. for cupcakes, chocolate is always good and good for you too
8565. for a walker to lean on, a gift from my children
8566. for a quiet relaxing day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Have a great Sunday everyone. Relax, Refresh and renew!
What a cute picture of them eating a cupcake:) Burr it is cold there already but then you had the most wonderful summer weather. Glad your church is open and taking precautions, ours is too.
Those cupcakes sure do look like some amazing ones, they are gorgeous! I guess I need to stay away from desserts among other things since discovering I've gained 14 pounds since March - yikes! Enjoy church today Ma and have a blessed Sunday :)
Haven't had a cupcake like that in a few years but they are always soooo good!!! We are double your degrees today Ma with our high getting to be about 97. No chance of us cooling down anytime soon :)

Yes, those cupcakes look so dreamy! Have you seen those "Wicked Good Cupcakes" in jars? I first heard about them on Shark Tank and have ordered them as gifts a couple of times. We dipped into the 40's overnight yesterday, and I was soooo happy. Except we're headed back to the 80's this week. Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind!
Hey!!! You must have been down here in Texas! I recognize the Silos Baking Company!! Did you go to the Silos to shop as well?
I yearn in my heart for weather like yours! I want chilly and damp and cloudy. I want to wear layers and a sweater and sip a cup of hot chocolate after coming in from working in the yard. I want to start thinking about what I will fix for Thanksgiving and where I am going to put the Christmas trees this year.
But now the AC is on here at the ranch and it is in the upper 80's. No fall activities today except for planting some wildflower seeds in our garden for the bees to enjoy next spring!
