ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Black Cat Day which encourages us to let go of superstions about Black Cats. It’s a day to celebrate the beauty of these sleek creatures. The day also seeks to raise awareness about the low adoption rates for black cats.
This time of year, many black cats may decorate many thresholds for Halloween and windows for spooky decor. However these felines deserve the love and attention just as much as their tabby equivalents. Old notions have given these furry critters a bad reputation The day is about turning that reputation around
Their black canine counterparts also face a similar adoption problems. So it’s not all about myths and mystery. However, increasing support for the black feline’s plight is the goal this holiday.
If you are a cat lover and considering adopting, don’t overlook they ebony to go with your ivory. Knock those irrational fears to the door and open your home to the dark side . Visit a shelter near you and explore the ebony options. available in the cat room. Volunteer if you don’t have the opportunity to adopt. You’ll be able to spread the word about thee svelte beauties. Despite there look, they each exhibit a different persona.
If your home is graced with a black cat, share photos of your ;fine feline on social media . Let the world know there’s nothing to fear,
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.

I no longer have any pets, but I did have a black cat for years here at my house. She originally belonged to DD but when she left home, the cat stayed with me. She lived over 18 years and was my constant companion. There wasn’t anything spooky about her. She was as sweet and cuddly as any other cat and I still miss her.
DS#5 and his family now have a black cat and I get to visit theirs when ever I need to have my cat fix… That’s who the pictures are of today. He’s a very loved and spoiled cat. They also have two dogs, but they all get along very well.
For today, I’m making another new recipe:
Tasty Lentil Tacos
Makes 6 servings
1 tsp oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup dried lentils, rinsed
1 tbsp chil powder
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
2 1/s cups vegetable or chicken broth
1 cup salsa
12 taco shells
1 1/2 cups shredded lettuce
1 cup chopped fresh tomatoes
In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat, sauce onion and garlic until tender Add lentils and seasonings and cook and stir 1 minute. Stir in broth, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer covered until lentils are tender. 25 to 30 minutes.
Cook uncovered until mixture is thickened, stirring occasionally. Mash lentils, slightly, stir in salsa and heat through Serve in taco shells. Top with remaining ingredients.
I think I’ll add some shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream to my toppings.
I’ve not made these before but in an effort to cut down on fats, lentils make a good replacement.
The good news for today is that she’s home ! My granddaughter came home from the hospital yesterday and is doing just fine. The prayers were very much appreciated.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
What greater gift than the love of a cat.
Charles Dickens
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8591. for cats, they make good pets
8592. for good memories of my cat
8593. for grand cats and dogs that make me happy
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

So thankful for my granddaughters good health, Thanks again for all the prayers
So thankful your granddaughter is home and doing well! DS5's black kitty is gorgeous. I had a solid black cat years ago. I can't believe black cats and dogs have a lower adoption rate, that is so sad. If I ever adopt anymore pets I'd be sure to choose black ones just for that reason. Enjoy those yummy sounding tacos this evening :)
THank goodness for your granddaughter's speedy recovery! I was concerned by that diagnosis that your son and DIL might have to re-home their animals.
Your grand-kitty is gorgeous! So neat how he poses 'just so' for the camera!
You're being so good about eating healthy! I think a taco shell and dollop of sour cream improves the taste of about anything.
Praising God for your granddaughter being out of the hospital! Fantastic news!!! We have a stray black cat in our neighborhood. I think it likes to tease our dog LOL as sometimes the dog will go crazy barking and we cant' figure out why he's barking. We wonder if the cat is on the other side of the brick wall :)

I am so sorry I missed hearing about your granddaughter's need for prayer but I am so grateful she is okay.
My youngest son, Benjamin, adopted a black kitten and he is one blessed little boy cat!! He has state of the art litter box and water fountain and enjoys a small cup of lactose free milk every morning. I did not know that only young kittens can process the lactose in milk.
Loved all the cute pics!
